I think that happens either way. I played the other way. Lester had nothing to do with that job. He just showed up out of nowhere.Tailhappy wrote:SBF wrote:What? How'd that happen?
Trevor's heist of the "device" that Merryweather is testing. I choose to steal the one underwater using the sub I stole at the docks, and the CargoBob I stole from the military base. Lester made me give it back out of fear of the government coming to kill us all.
BUT, I still have the sub.

I have kept everyone's original car. I modified the shit out of Micheal's Obey, it actually is a really good car. I also kept Franklin's Buffalo and modified that a little more. I modified Trevor's truck, but it still looks like a piece of shit.

So I'm getting really fed up that there are NO garages to purchase in Sandy Shores or Paletto Bay. NONE. This is getting obnoxious. There are only three and I made the mistake of having Trevor buy one.

Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
Can't you use the hanger as a garage of sorts?
I haven't tested it out.
Oh, and I lost Micheal's black car (Obey?) when the wife and kids left. Now I have some FWD POS. Maybe she brings it back?
That's okay, I like the old school rides I picked out for them, and Trevor's Bro Truck.

Jimmy took micheals car. He should have sent you a text. Wait until you get it back.

Also, I don't play as Trevor and you can't use his hangar as anyone else. I think they should have put more than three garages and hideouts.

Has anyone found any motorcycles that are more cruiser or chopper style besides the one you get with franklin and the ones that the lost ride? All of the ones online are sport bikes. I want a big fat harley looking one.

Go to Hookies near Paletto bay, The Lost are out there and they have choppers. They are always there.

Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I'm a bit behind most everyone else, as I had almost no chance to play it this past week. Â But I did play a bunch of it last night and captured that Cargobob helicopter, which took me about a dozen tries to figure out how to get away with it.
There was probably a much easier way to do it that I had missed.
- Spoiler:
- The military base sat on a high ridge, so as soon as I flew the Cargobob over the boundaries of the base, I dove hard and put the chopper on the ground at the bottom. Â The Defender chopper overshot my landing area and I had just enough time to jump out and put AK rounds into the cockpit. Â Damaged the fuck out of the Cargobob getting it to the ground, but it made it home.
There was probably a much easier way to do it that I had missed.
Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I forgot where the cargobob was, and didn't realize how close to the base I was. Got the message I was in restricted airspace, dropped like a rock, just happened to land right next to it, jumped out, used Trevor's special ability to kill the two soldiers near it, jumped in it and took off.
Easiest thing I've ever done, and it was all by accident.
It's a shame I didn't seem to keep it though. Why I have the sub, and no means to put it back in the water I do not know.

I finally stole a fighter jet from the air base and it ran out of fuel. I fell in the ocean and got eaten by a shark. A fucking shark!?!

I'm sure there's maps online. You'll need the sub which comes with scuba gear. If you exit it underwater you have gear on, and can swim underwater indefinitely.
Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I built a Karin 4x4 to look like the Marty McFly Toyota and climbed Mount Gordo.

That is bad ass, SBF.
Also, apparently if you hold the little map you got with the game up to a blacklight, you can see all the spaceship part sites on it.

I think that's just the Collector's Edition map. I wish I could get on Kotaku at work, or ANY game site. I always forget to check when I get home to un-filtered internet.
Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I was disappointed that I couldn't find one with lights on the roll bar. Then after I built this one, one drove by meJaysonAych wrote:That is bad ass, SBF.

Pretty ridiculous they dont have an android version of ifruit up yet. They claim theyre working hard to get it done though. Come on guys, you're a team of professional programmers. A high school kid could probably do a port of it from apple to android in a weekend or less. Makes you wonder if theyre in bed with Apple. I've always been a loyal gta fan and now because I have an android phone I can't get the full experience.

The wall glitch behind the "special" barber shop is hilarious.
You can shoot them but they can't shoot you. Just don't try to throw a grenade. It ended my 15 minute 4 star wanted level before I could get it to 5 stars.

It's called the Spacemonkey mask. So, maybe? You need it (or another mask) for a heist. I also have a pig mask and an ape mask for the other two gents.thewalrus wrote:What the hell is that thing? So you can't hijack a train. Found out the hard way.

Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
This I've heard. And seen. Sooooo many good videos on YouTube of online shenanigans. I mean, it might be fun to do missions with strangers to get money and buy an apartment and whatnot but.... doing the missions and general farting around with friends seems to be the way to go.SBF wrote:So you can't hijack a train. Once I'm done with singleplayer I'll start playing online. I already belong to a crew.
Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
Yeah, I've been avoiding online until I get through single player. But I also don't want to rush through single player because there's all kinds of fun things to do on the side.
Do stunt jumps seem hard to find for anyone else? I just performed my first successful one last night, largely because I suck, but also because I have a hell of a time just finding a stunt jump locale.

Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I tend to find them accidentally. Completing them is usually a crap shoot. Most of the time I'm not lined up or going fast enough, I just go "oh hey, a jump/shortcut" and launch over it.
When the dreaded 100% comes up, I'll be finding a map for that, and all the other little things needed.

This looks awesome, but it's a bitch to set up. Â We should try it sometime.
(skip to 4:30 if you don't want to watch it all, but the Rooster Teeth/Rage Quit guys make it funny)

Sooooo you CAN make a car un-enterable/un-driveable without blowing it up:
And when's the iFruit app coming to Android? Chop needs training.

It's actually pretty easy to make a car undriveable. Getting hit by a train or other large vehicle will usually do it. Funny how no matter how mangled the car is the door still opens and close like it just came off the showroom floor, no struggling to get it open or anything.

Re: GTA V thread, because we'll surely need it.
I like taking a bus or a truck and heading up to the Vinewood-area high ground, and then point it southbound and start barreling downhill through traffic until I run out of road in South Central. You get a good head of steam and just smash through everything.Honor wrote:It's actually pretty easy to make a car undriveable. Getting hit by a train or other large vehicle will usually do it. Then you block off the street and wait for traffic to stack up, grenade the bus, incinerate everything around it for a one block radius, run from the cops, and Michael gets a shitload of money for the junkyard.

Oh no, it seems I accidentally spilled gas in the shape of a gentleman sausage.
Oh, and FUCK YOU, Jimmy. THIS is how you modify a car.

I'm so glad that car is gone, gone for good I hope. FWD oversteering POS.
I hate ALL the character's main cars. I try to use them as little as possible.
