Played it for a couple hours. Its everything I dreamed it would be.

Then I made a dude in a car mad, he got out and hit me, I hit him back and killed him, a nearby cop saw it, and as I was trying to escape in the dead guy's car, the cop fucking shot me in the face. Once. And killed me.
That was a little much for not even being on a mission, and for only having a one-star wanted level.
Oh, and sometimes pressing/tapping A won't make my guy run. Not sure what's up with that.

I've been having trouble figuring out the running as well. It seems like when I'm tapping it, it works MOST of the time. Pressing it is a crap shoot.

I found a cop car sitting next to a gas station with no one in it, and tried to drive it back to my garage. It was on the edge of town so a pretty long drive. I get home and park on the street because I need to move the car that's in the garage out, then before I move the car I decide to play with the dog for a moment, and my cop car fucking disappears :smelly:

I've heard you do a mission where you get a new home, and any car you save at the old one gets glitched into oblivion.

Someone on the forums said to use the Grove Street Garage to save cars in. Wherever THAT is.

I think the run issue (for me, anyway) might be because I pushed down on the left stick accidentally and went into stealth mode. It's easy to click it on the 360 pad and it doesn't let you run in that mode.

Other annoying thing about the game: I seem to remember on GTA4, holding down R looked back, but if you clicked it, would look back and then snap back to the centered view behind the car, so it was easy to recenter your camera. Now, you have to hold R for a couple of seconds before it will recenter.

Finally drove out into Blaine County. I like how there's new radio stations out there. The scenery is gorgeous.

I am dying SO MUCH. And I don't remember being this bad at shooting.... I have assisted aim on, but it doesn't work when shooting from a car.

Oh, and if a lady near Lester's house says "Help! She's screaming and he's hitting her!" DON'T FUCKING HELP HER. Holy shit.

I found the above lady on accident. Remembering Tailhappy's words, I started following her and pulled out my AK just to be safe, at which point she freaked out and ran off. I messed up Woe

Then I went and grabbed Chop to go play fetch. After tossing the tennis ball a few times, I thought, "I'd better get us farther away from the street so he doesn't get run over." Two seconds later a fucking police chase tears by us and the lead car goes up on the sidewalk, mows Chop over and throws his lifeless carcass into the street. So I'm staring at this dead bloody dog in the middle of the road and I'm like, "Ho. Ly. Shit. That's...fucking awful Rockstar. Just awful. Look what you assholes did. Now I gotta jack a car and do donuts on his corpse." And I did.

So later I take a newly-regenerated Chop over to the basketball arena so there's no traffic. We're throwing the ball and having a good time. I threw the ball right at a guy's head, and it bounces off him and hits another guy in the head and they go running off. Then I go over and talk to a security guard (talking to random people is great), who tells me to get out of his face. Then he pulls his gun and starts shooting me, at which point Chop leaps into action and chews his balls off. We then hauled ass to the minivan and ran from the cops.

This game is fun.

Sooooo there's other dogs in the game, out in Trevor's red-neck of the woods. Do not try to pet them. You will end up like Jay's security guard.

Piloting a small boat down the river from up there is fun. Then you get to the waterfalls and rapids. Then its MORE fun. Not as much as jumping huge waves in the ocean, however.

The map seems like a more condensed GTASA map, but also larger? Hard to explain. Some of the landmarks are there, but not where they're supposed to be. It's more true to life in a way.

First it was helping out robbery victims, then it was BEING a victim of robbery, now as Trevor, its getting..... strange.

The one by the airport you purchase.... Wow.

I do not think this map is bigger than San Andreas. IIRC, driving even the fastest car around SA on the highways, took the better part of an hour to start and end back in the same spot.

It only took me 34 minutes to get around Los Santos County and I had kept crashing and I stopped at the beach for a minute. So 33 minutes.

I think they did a good job of making it look big, but I don't think it's as big.

Videogamer.com, my new best friends on YouTube, did a slow drive around MOST of the entire map, stopping a lot because they got lost a few times, did a few detours, etc. and the video is only 35 minutes long. It's not BIG, but it is FULL. As in, there's a lot more stuff to do, roads to drive on, things to see, etc. around the entire map.
I do remember the planes in SA could get from one end of the map to another pretty quickly, I've only flown one plane on a mission so far and it felt a lot slower, like the map was bigger.... but that be because the plane was slow.
Also, they may be counting the ocean as part of the map since its all detailed as well, and there's sunken ships and sharks and shit. The former I am not sure of, but heard a thing.

It is referred to as Los Santos and Blaine County according to the map. If they are going off of GTA: San Andreas, the state is San Andreas.

I tried jumping from a car onto a freight train, it wasnt pretty. So do you have to go to a depot or something to steal an engine? I've found some small railyards but they always have just boxcars and shit, never any locomotives.

I did that too until it got boring So much stuff opens up as you progress the game.

Have you gotten to Trevor or flight school yet? It gets easier when your character has experience with flying, i.e. Trevor was a pilot in the military.
I have an issue with helicopters, they seem worse than GTA IV, and the ability to hover at the press of a button is gone I think? Planes aren't too bad. But landing in the proper spot when parachuting? FUCK. THAT.

Speaking of which, there's some nice old cars driving around. There's the one that looks like a cross between a '57 Bel-Air convertible and maybe a '58 Plymouth Belvedere in the front, there's one that looks like a mid 60's GTO, one that looks like maybe a late 50's early 60's Corvette...

I haven't customized any yet though. :classicsad:

I took a box truck and rammed into a line of three cars at full speed, pushing all of the cars into each other. The impact killed the guy in the car in the back. The driver of the car in the front got mad and lept out to beat the shit out of the 2nd guy for hitting him.

Then later I drove up north to a scenic highway point where there were two motorcycle cops sitting at the side of the road. I took a picture and got ready to leave, when one of the cops decided to take off. He pulled right out in the middle of high-speed highway traffic and got clipped by an SUV. Both cops then opened fire on the poor son of a bitch in the SUV and killed him.

I can't believe I'm typing sentences like this.

I saw a high speed police chase with a tractor trailer. dude was driving on the wrong side of the road and then he wrecks, gets out and starts having a shoot out with the cops. he lost.

I... I got Chop killed. But it was EPIC.

After doing a job for Lester, Franklin (Honor's colored boy) gets moved into a house in the hills. I stopped by to check it out, maybe unpack some things, say hi to Chop since it had been awhile, etc. While checking out my new pad, I see the neighbors are having a party. Being the nice respectable young black man that I am (wearing chinos and an argyle sweater, to compliment my Sparta beard and blow out fro), I stop by to say hi. It goes well. I engage a few guys and gals in conversation, mingling through the crowd by the pool side. I even take a dip. In my clothes. As I progress through, I see two ladies out on the deck having a smoke. I approach the one closest to me. "Hey babe" I say. She reacts in a startles manner, mumbles something I don't catch, so I prod her again "Sup with you?" "Don't make me call the cops!" she replies. Whoa. This is getting out of hand. Better go back home before.... AH FUCK COPS.
I should be safe in my safe house, right? Only problem is, I haven't been inside yet and don't know the layout... But I do find the closet where I can change out of my wet clothes. Maybe the cops won't come in while "FREEZE ASSHOLE!"
BUSTED
I wake up exiting the police station stripped of my armor and ammo, but I still have my guns. Furious, I make a plan.
Thankfully there's an Ammu-Nation on the way back home, so I stop there and stock back up. In the police car they thoughtfully left out front, unlocked, and let me borrow with no wanted stars attained.
So I arrive home, go see Chop, and bring him along this time to meet the neighbors again, who now in the bright daylight, are still having a party. And they changed clothes. And appearances. And sex, apparently. No matter, I am still getting revenge.
I train my aim onto the smoker (who is now a man) that called the cops, and "Get'em, Chop!" I shout. Chop sicks balls.
Everyone runs.
Except the two by the pool.
One person dead and only two targets left, I train my aim on them "Go get 'em, Chop!" Balls. Sicked. Then, the unthinkable happens.
Chop falls into the pool.
Chop can't swim.
Chop sinks to the bottom of the deep end.
And is barking under water.
Frustrated, and with the cops approaching (who the fuck called THIS time?!?), I push the people into the water. The lady falls on Chop, and Chop sicks balls. SHe floats back to the surface. Dead.
Iiiiiiiii gotta go. Sorry Chop, you'll be fine.
I start running through the hills, peoples back yards, and eventually I evade the cops. As I start to make my way back home, I see the little bone on the map indicating Chop, moving in my direction. Slowly. And I hear police sirens still. I come around the corner to see something amazeballs.
It's Chop. ALIVE!
And attacking policemen in the middle of the street.
And WINNING.
I have no wanted level, so I walk over to watch, and try to avoid the stray bullets from the now 4 cop cars that are approaching Chop, who is attacking cops as they exit their cars.
But he doesn't see the one up the road.
Chop gets shot.
Chop gets killed.
No Chop. NO!
But then a voice from above descends in a little window on the top left of the screen:
"Chop has been killed.
Chop will be available at Franklin's home shortly"
Oh, so not fully dead then.
Just mostly dead?
Good boy, Chop.
Plus I got another better police car out of the deal, and some weapons the dead cops had dropped.

I like that Rockstar isn't a bunch of douches and lets Chop respawn.

I haven't really used him except for the missions he's on. I am also training him on the iFruit app.
