Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
The Omni GLHS is fine, but I just wanted a base model. I spruced up the wheels though.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Can you make it awd? And what are the engine swap choices?

Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Anyone else make it into the Hyundai event? They were going to take the top 1000 times of registered players, run them through a couple events, and whittle it down to a winner of an actual 2013 Veloster.
I posted an okay time in the first event, and event number 2 is up, and I first did a lap good enough for 250th place, then improved on that, I'm now in 150th. I could probably do better, but the next round we are allowed tuned cars. I suck at tuning, maybe I'll get lucky. Don't really want to win a Hyundai anyways, but the competition is fun.

You can swap in the Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo V6. And you can make it either RWD or AWD.

I didn't have much chance to do anything with the Hyundai competition, but I wish I did. That's awesome that you're still in the running!

Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Dawwww, thanks Honor.
Dunnas is pretty decent too. He'd probably be in but its open to US residents only. He beat a bunch of my times in Rivals and I haven't been able to beat him back easily. If I had more time I'm sure I could (maybe), but I'm going for cheevos and trying to get the Bucket List by racing every race in the event list.

Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Seconding Tail being an awesome driver. I felt like throwing my controller so many times trying like hell to beat a few of your times in rivals mode, and then the next thing I knew, you're beating all my times again in short order, plus a few more seemingly effortlessly.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Dawwww....
Moved up to 87th in the Hyundai event, out of almost 600 people. Posted a 1:09:8XX, the fastest time overall on the leaderboards is a 1:07:6XX. Insane. I don't think I can get near that time with a controller, watching the replays the guy's just so smooooth as he's bounding over curbs and powering out of turns.
And I had a few beers in me.

Got a $250 gift card from work, and this week they dropped the price of the base wheel/pedal set to $249.95. Tis fate, my dear.

I can't see it as anything else.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Benfolio, I just gifted you something terrifying. Insane, even.
It took me some time to get it tuned to where it would drive with some measure of stability. You still have to be quite judicious with the throttle or else you get launched into the ether, but once I learned I was laying down some pretty good times with it. I'm curious to know how it works for you (if it works at all).
It gets downright frightening over 160 MPH.

Yeah, it's quite funny when you're in an Omni and legitimately grumbling, "I wish these two pricks in the Rossion and the LF-A would quit blocking me and get the fuck out of the way."
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Finally. I've been waiting for that style mustang forever.

Me too. AND, you can put standard GT bumpers and hood on it.clockbreaker wrote:Finally. I've been waiting for that style mustang forever.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
You know, the last game that had that style in it was gt2. Released 13 years ago. That's how rare it is.

That's because nobody gave a shit about the SN95 Mustangs. They either want FoxBody or the Newer style.

Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
Pfft, I care. It was the first Mustang I ever owned. In 1:24th scale.... but still.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
So my car started making this metal screeching/scraping noise from the left front wheel tonight. When I turned into my driveway it sound like something fell out but I saw nothing on the ground or anything that looked out of place underneath or around the wheel.

You're fucked. It's sounds like its the dreaded Subaru double hymen jointed Theisen bar bushing that possibly failed.
Fucking bushings.
Tailhappy probably knows more about that than anyone.

If only I bought a stylish metal bar to protect them this never would have happened.

no seriously, I'd like to see more SN95s, but I really only like the New Edge ones (specifically those after 2001), I don't like the jellybean styling on those earlier ones.

I pretty much like every mustang style ever. Except those late 70s ones.

Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
HOLY BALLS I just competed in the 3rd (and final?) round of the Hyundai championship, and am in 16TH PLACE.
Doesn't hurt that its an Autocross round, and as Jay knows, for some reason I'm like an idiot savant at autocrossing in Forza. PLUS I'm still using my controller, as I haven't had time to finish my cockpit to mount the wheel I got Monday. Could probably shave a few seconds off with that kind of control, and get into the top 10. Wow.

You did that WITHOUT the wheel???

As far as everyone has said, it's ONLY Silverstone and ONLY the first corner. Keep to the left, follow the little access road to the yellow Agip wall to the corner of it and a white tire wall, and park with about 2 feet of any part of your car away from the tire wall with your car TOUCHING the yellow wall. It takes some finagling, but after two or three tries I can get it in there.

Does your car have to be parallel or perpendicular to the yellow wall? Do you have to "enter" the car from any certain angle? I'm not figuring it out.
Re: Forza Motorsport 4 - It's on!
I've spent much of the last few weeks trying to make a civilized S-class racer out of the Omni, and I think I've done as much as I can. I put a tune up in my storefront, and it works pretty well. It's AWD now and down on power compared to my earlier car, but now that it's easier to drive, it actually uses the power it has. Extreme technical tracks and extreme fast tracks are not its strong suit, but it's very good on balanced courses.
Now to unleash it on the pubbies.
