Forza 3 live update
For everyone who's BAWWWING about the shifting animations, supposedly the new live update fixes them.
Re: Forza 3 live update

It's true. I don't know how it works with flappy-paddle gearboxes, but the hand does come off the wheel for the shifter, and for handbrakes.
Re: Forza 3 live update
I haven't played this game in a while...

Re: Forza 3 live update
I don't know (or care) about the shift thing, but the really good news is lesser classes are available in online play against strangers now. I had a great race at Laguna Seca today against a Trans Am in my MR2 upgraded to Class C.

Re: Forza 3 live update
Flappy paddle animation shows the fingers moving. Although some cars have NO animation.
Re: Forza 3 live update
and he moves his hands to shift even when he's driving an automatic car like the grand national. how hard would it have been to program it only to do that when driving a manual? these guys are really sloppy/careless programmers.

Re: Forza 3 live update
Why are you driving a car with an auto???
Maybe he's shifting the auto manually, you can do the 1-2-D shift yourself you know.

Re: Forza 3 live update
the grand national is the only auto i own. oh wait the 1990 z28 is auto too isnt it? well anyway i think sloppy programming is a much more likely explanation. especially since he shifts more than three times.
he also does it on my M3 GTR that has paddle shifters, but I was thinking, dont they have a stick that you can use also if you want? and with the ferrari fxx he does nothing, and im pretty sure it has paddle shifters.

the m3 gtr had either paddles or a sequential stick, depending on where it was racing

Re: Forza 3 live update
but couldnt you have both on the same car and just use whatever you felt like at the time? or was it either one or the other? because if so then he should not be putting his hand down to shift because mine clearly has paddle shifters..

Re: Forza 3 live update
You could get a 1990 Z28 with a 5-speed. It's very uncommon to see though, cause 90% of them were sold with automatics.

it was one or the other. my dad raced one at the nurburgring and they had to have the 6 speed sequentials as the rules didnt allow the paddle shift box. to swap from one to the other would have required swapping the entire gearbox

Technically that is my girlfriend's profile. But it's the Gold account so I have to use it too.

I posted it in Pointless.
Re: Forza 3 live update
Anyone get the holiday car pack? Ferrari 458, Panamera, etc.... plus a GT-R Spec V. It handles like shit.
Re: Forza 3 live update
I didn't get it. The GT-R is the only car in the pack I'm really interested in.
Re: Forza 3 live update
Sounds good but I'm not paying for car packs.
The GT-R also handled poorly in Prologue.

That seems odd, considering it has arguably more grip than any other road car.Swerve wrote:Sounds good but I'm not paying for car packs.

Re: Forza 3 live update
Yeah. The Panamera is great..... the GT-R sounds good at least, and people say it drifts nice, but it seemed way too understeer-y to me, and not all that quick.
Re: Forza 3 live update
I didn't play Prologue too much, not owning a PS3 and all. But I do remember the GT-R being very understeery. You could lift off and it would immediately pull back into line very controllably, but that hardly made for a fun or fluid drive.

Re: Forza 3 live update
I've had a lot of fun going back and completing some of the early FWD events. Beating the Twingo in an unmodified Fiesta around Catlunya School Circuit was very challenging, not to mention the F Class World Championship.

Re: Forza 3 live update
Those lower class races are tons of fun. I'm doing a lot of R3 races in season play right now, and being able to personalize the race cars this time around really helps out the higher races, though.
We were doing Le Mons cheap car races on SA ($25,000 to spend, no tunable parts, crappy paint jobs encouraged) and I have an awesome looking car, but it's just not competitive (I was only 14 points on PI lower than the leaders, but consistently 8 seconds slower per lap on every track we ran). I need to find another car.

I also wish you were able to remove factory decals and emblems, it would make for some awesome customizing.

Most cars you can, just cover them with vinyls the same color as your car.
