I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
Yep, I was the same way. It was a little surreal looking around, because, technically, I could have afforded a WRX or an Si. It would have been a tighter budget, but it could have been done. But they just weren't interesting any more - or rather they were, but not in any way that would make me seriously consider them as transportation. I mean I've put 325 km on the car so far - mixed highway and city driving - and I've burned through just under a third of a 50 L tank of gas. Amazing. And frankly I find that far more important in a car right now than how long it takes to get to 60 mph.
The one thing I regret, is not more seriously considering a used car. There were two 2004 off-lease Impreza Wagons with 5 speeds on the lot. I should have given them a closer look I think. Buyers remorse or something, I guess.

I'm not really partial to used cars anymore. I'd be nervous about someone else treating it poorly.

Yeah. That was what drove me away from them too. I know the dealer puts a warranty on them, and they're inspected... but still, I like knowing how a car's been driven from the first mile.

When I bought my Dodge, I had a heavy amount of buyer's remorse, but in the long run, it's turned out to be damn good decision. I think you'll be happy with it.

You're right. I took the car out to the mountains today for a day trip, and I really liked it. Yeah, there were other cars I could have bought, but this was smooth, efficient, and decently powerful. It can carry two kayaks with an Inno car rack - which was a big deal for me, and there's plenty of room inside for all sorts of long-road / camping trips.

How's that big assed digital speedo doing?
I love watching those things in Civics that occupy lanes next to me. Especially when I had the "certified" speedo of the Crown Vic.

Why the fuck are you watching the speedometer of a car next to you when you're supposed to be driving? And it's been perfectly fine.

Right above the door handle is bad. That's where he climbs for Tim's drive through.

I'll allow it then. I actually like it. I didn't at first, but now I'm used to it.

All digital speedos just remind me of my parent's '92 Astro...... *shudder*
I could probably never own a car with one.

But no one actually uses miles per Imperial gallon, certainly not in Canada. All the other reasonable countries in the world are on to liters, and the Americans use bigger gallons.TheWoerus wrote:Turbofrog wrote:There's no such thing as a Canadian gallon.

Not according to Honda Canada which puts both miles per Imperial gallons and liters per 100 kms on their window stickers.

when you think of it, l/100km is pretty silly. . . the netherlands use a far more interesting, and, compared to the rest of the world, more logical, manner of speaking. . . km/l. . . i use it too, nowadays, since it's more practical . . .

And I just saw two car advertisements on Canadian TV that used imperial miles per gallon.

I'd much prefer Km/L but my last 2 cars have both displayed L/100km for me so I make do with that.

I think it really depends on the type of car and who you buy it from. If I'm buying a civic from a 50 year old man I'm not too worried. If I was buying a WRX from a high school kid I'd be pretty fucking worried.

that's why you never buy frcom people with custom plates. they're too enthousiastic. . .

I bought a french hot hatch from an asian guy (bought it from a dealer but it was 1 owner and has an asian dudes name in the service book).
I'm not sure what to think as far as how my car would have been treated.
