Buying a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe 5 speed.
hurray. No more wally wagon. Paying just a hair over 20 for an LX. Been approved by Honda Canada for financing. I get $1000.00 back from the federal government because of it's fuel economy.
Pick it up tomorrow.

is it red?
It's black. It's a perfectly good car. The stick shift is great, clutch feels good, handling is wonderful. And it gets 52 miles per Canadian gallon.

Black... like your soul.
Rock on, emo kid.
(Except it's not a hybrid. So you fail as an emo kid.)

Re: Buying a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe 5 speed.
pics?
you gonna rice it out?
you could sell it, get a tiny little loan from a bank and buy an evo/sti now :)
r you could keep this one and enjoy the hell out of it . . .
my main reason to dislike them is because the euro version almost dislocated my knee when i tried to enter the car. i walked with a limp for a week. . .
the serond time i was more careful, and i only hit it softly, causing just a bruise . .
but that's the dashboard design, which isn't the same in the states . . .
i don't really mind the exterior. . . it's refreshing without being too farfetched . .

I don't have a digital camera, so I doubt I'll have pics any time soon.
THere is no way in hell that I'm "ricing" it out. The only addition I'll add is a kayak / bike / wind surfing board carrier.
How the hell do you enter cars that it'd injure you. I think that's more your fault than the cars, because I had no problem.
An Evo / STi is still way too expensive for my tastes. I want something cheap, and reliable.

Re: Buying a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe 5 speed.
the curves of the dash, at the door opening come ridiculously far back, and the seat, when in a good driving position, is too far forward to easily fit your legs between the backrest and the corner of the dash (in the door opening) thus hitting ones knee.
but, that's the euro version, and my (sexy) body. . .
maybe it's completely my fault, but it's one of the 2 cars i've had that problem with. the other one being a prius

Thanks man It's about the perfect combination of sportyish / economical / ecological on the market. You can attach a kayak roof mount, and the price was right.
Plus Honda Financing was more than willing to finance, and you can pay off early with them and save interest - you can't with the GMAC financing (or whatever the standard financing group is) since they make you pay off the interest first and then the principal.
The wally wagon was pretty tired too man. The CD player was crapping out on me, the brakes were getting mushy, the steering was a getting loser... a good car, but I was getting nervous driving it on long trips to be honest.

Re: Buying a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe 5 speed.
I just hope the interior is screwed together better than the last current-gen Civic I was in. That thing was awful and things were coming apart in my hands, and it was brand new.

Thanks.
The ones I sat and drove in seemed really well built (better than the Corolla / Yaris), so I'm thinking you may have been in a lemon.

Maybe so. All I know is that the door pull literally crushed itself in my feeble hands as if it were foam rubber, and the door panel tried to pull itself off the door when I tried to close it.

I didn't find that at all. Everything was solid and well constructed in the tester. The driving experience was great, it was smooth, quiet, and settled at highway speed.
