I just watched "The Other Guys" which was really stupid. Not funny at all. Eva Mendez looks amazing in it, as usual.
Also saw "Faster" which was pretty decent. If you're in the mood for a no remorse action flick, it'll do the job.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
...anyway, I watched Rounders last night for probably the first time since seeing it at the movies. Really good. Only problem with poker movies is that there's no real way to show someone being outplayed vs. a purely bad beat, if they don't want the losing hand to look like an idiot. This is why supposedly being outplayed is always along the lines of nines full of aces going down to aces full of nines.
Casino Royale has the worst winning hand, since Bond should never have been in a pot that would have had reraise after reraise after raise. And he was supposedly chip leader...

Also watched Awakenings in the last week. Pretty good, considering it's bloody depressing.

They spelled it right as well. You can use either the ck or just the k.

I actually thought it was descent. Yeah dumb, but I still got a laugh out of it here and there. Let's put it this way, I'm glad I didn't pay-per-view it.
Also just watched Hot Tub Time Machine and was expecting it to be really really dumb, but it wasn't. Its definitely a "buddies that lost touch" type movie with a time trip back to the 80's. It was a fun movie.

No I want you to join the club of people who's posts and/or links don't get read by other people.
There is also the group of people that think they're contributing to the thread, but their post is always the closer.

Just watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I enjoyed it a lot. Definitely a movie geared towards teenagers into graphic novels, but fun none the less. They had to have fun making it.

Just saw "Titanic II" on Netflix . Possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. Lots of hot chicks though.

Hahaha it looks like a piece of shit. IMDB has it at 1.9 stars out of 10.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I saw Letters to Juliet.
It was worth it for the Lancia Delta that I uploaded a crapload of pics to imcdb.org I guess.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
One of the countless problems with it was that when it showed the ship at port, it was the real life quuen mary, which is now permanetly moored as a restaurant and hotel in california. But when it showed shots of the ship at sea it was a poorly done cgi version of the original titanic, which looks quite different from the queen mary. It was like they didn't give a shit at all making this movie.JaysonAych wrote:Hahaha it looks like a piece of shit. IMDB has it at 1.9 stars out of 10.

I saw one of those the other day in the Martini colours. Very rare here and IMO horrible value at currently twice the price of the MY00 WRX.

Oh. Lancia styling has been stupid for the last ten years or so. It's like they are competing with Seat and Seat alone. Each brand is the black sheep of its parent company.

but yeah, the only Lancia-designed Lancia that doesn't look like a wind-tunnel-tested horse turd is the Stratos

Saw The Lion King. (old) In 3D (not old)
Pissed off, not only because I had two loud talking seat kicking women behind me (who were just fat, and NOT BLACK), but because they took the SEX out of the sky.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Let's see, this is what I have seen lately:
Tangled - Cute, kinda funny
Rio- Also cute and funny
Season of the Witch - Not bad. Definitely a twist.
The Fourth Kind - Blair Witch with aliens. Stupid as shit, an hour and a half of my life I can't have back.
Date Night - Funny as hell
Due Date - Funny, but Zach Galikanakis is just like Vince Vaughn, can only play one character.

I watched Super 8 the other day, and I was really really drunk so I don't remember much of it, but I do recall being underwhelmed.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Saw Transformers3 (or 4, or 5, or whatever its up to now, the one about the moon).
Fucking lame. Jesus what a bunch of re-hashed ideas fuck packed into a 3 hour long anus of a movie full of product placement and stupid jokes.
And Megan Fox's replacement looks like one of those flat faced cats.

Watched three "horror" movies that were on the tube 'cuz it's October.
The Carver Killer, or Pumpkin Carver or some shit. I give it a .75 only because there were some hot chicks in it.
Valentine w/ Denise Richards. Was even lamer the second time I saw it. 1.25.
My Bloody Valentine. Pretty bad, but not as bad as the others... 2.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Just watched Fast Five.
I have to say I was impressed. I was suprised to see how much of a normal movie this was. They really toned down the ridiculous car shit. Stunts were good. Fight scenes were good.
The last one was all "WTF is this conglomeration of bullshit? But this one was like someone at Universal was like "Srsly guys, get ur shit tgthr or GTFO".
So out of the entire F&F franchise Tokyo Drift and Fast Five are the two best.

Out of the first 4 movies, it's was the best made and the least ridiculous. Now that Fast Five came along, it definite looks cornier.
