Does he even have any powers like super strength or intelligence or does he just throw that gay shield?
If you want to make a superhero out of a mere mortal, batman's the way to do it.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Here's a really new movie! Just saw Prometheus. It was good, but it wasn't as good as the first two Alien films though. It suffered from some pacing issues and a few "how the hell did they arrive at that conclusion so quickly" moments, but overall, I liked it. I have a feeling they cut a lot out of it to get it to a reasonable run time; it was almost 2 1/2 hours long.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Saw We Bought a Zoo with the family. Lots of cussin' for a PG movie. Yeesh.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I thought We bought a Zoo was pretty good.

It was good. But with my 4 and 6 year old they didn't need to hear "shit" so many times.
Unless its out of MY mouth.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
You should research the movies you plan to watch with your kids. And I thought saying shit in a movie made it pg-13. I guess they are getting more lax on the rules then they used to be. I remember the first ninja turtles movie was pg, and the worst thing they said in that was damn.

Remember there used to be like no cursing in videogames? Now all of them are like goodfellas, more or less.

I'll take the kids to see it. I'll probably get more enjoyment then them out of it, but oh well.

That could be pretty good. I'll probably go see it.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Just watched American Reunion. Thought it was good. Good way to close up the series (not the spin-off bullshit). Growing up with those movies, it definitely tied up some shit.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I went and saw "The Bourne Legacy" tonight. I went in with tempered expectations, but I wasn't expecting it to be quite that lousy.
I consider the Matt Damon Bourne movies to be about the best trilogy of movies ever, based just how solid and fun every movie is. There's not a weak one in the group; every one of them is fantastically written, paced, and acted, and exciting through-and-through. Legacy was just awful. It took 40 minutes to get to the main crux of the movie, and there was way too much focus on dragging out exposition and setting things up. And only one of the action sequences really grabbed me. The rest of them were pretty dull. Renner did the best he could, I think. He was just given little to work with.
If you haven't seen it, skip it.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I have no interest in seeing it. I hate when they do that shit.
"We made a kabjillion dollars on the first three movies, lets make another. Get Matt Damon on the horn!"
"Sir, he has no interest in doing another "Borne" movie"
"Oh, well then, lets find another actor to play a character that had absolutely nothing to do with the trilogy and then refer to Jason Borne in this movie, that'll get people to come see it!"
I've seen it too many times.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I've just arranged to see The Sting, the Australian way. Torrents that is.
To add something to this thread, I recently watched Men In Black 3. I thought it was a very good third movie (better than dark knight rises :jay:) compared to what you'd expect, and the ending could be quiet a tear jerker if you are susceptible to such girly emotions.

Just watched Battleship. I thought ot was going to be a middle of the summer, piece of trash. It ended up not being half bad. The last 15 minutes was the best.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
I love this plothole breakdown of "Prometheus." (nsfw language)
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Just recently watched Taken 2 and Flight.
Taken 2 was better than I thought it would be. Was expecting trash but it was alright
Flight was worse than I thought it was going to be. Movie was good, but they could have chopped 40 minutes out of it without missing anything. We get it, he’s a drunk… and another drunk scene… and another drunk scene… now what? The opening scene with the naked flight attendant was pretty nice. She was buck ass naked for a few minutes… beav’ and all.

Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Finally saw Skyfall. For some reason I wasn't as happy with it as I thought I was, based on what I heard.
Had the same feel as The Dark Knight ending. Kind of like a "eh, fuck it, lets start over" theme.

Watched Wreck-it-Ralph. If you like vintage video games, it's definitely worth a watch. I will probably add it to my DVD collection.

I saw it at Wal-Mart the other day. Great movie; first one in a long time that made me feel good about the ending.
Which means now I have to buy it.

Yeah I hardly watch movies I own or were boughten. I got A-Team two years ago and haven't opened it.
I sometimes will break out the old Indiana Jones or BTF trilogies, or the last few Star Trek TNG movies (still haven't opened 2011's Star Trek either), but mostly I watch kids movies, or Netflix.
I guess there hasn't been a movie good enough in the past few years for me to buy, and watch again and again. I sometimes watch them once, then with commentary, then they rot on a shelf.

The wife and I decided that we were going to keep a hard copy of our favorite movies.

You mean in the special features? I didn't watch anything off that disc.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
No, the habit Mr. Jackson's films seem to have of fading to black making the audience think its over, just to play another un-needed scene.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Since they were originally doing two movies and changed to three in the middle of things, he probably didn't know where the hell to end it.
Re: Not So New Movie Thread part duex
Watched Chernobyl Diaries the other night. What a fucking piece of shit flop that was.
