How to pass the weekends in Cold Lake
Well, Christmas is approaching. Which means I am moving out of my apartment in edmonton. Going back home for 2 weeks, and then moving up to Cold Lake on Jan 5th to live there 7 days a week. Aside from working 7 days a week when I am up there, I am thinking of different things I could do to pass the time on weekends.
Anyone have any ideas?

After watching a couple of episodes of Ice Road Truckers, I suggest staying indoors. That climate is the reason video games and DVDs exist.

Are we ever going to get PS3s Aris?
Or, when we do get them will they be such big disappointments that we're plunged even further into rue, and woe.

I might head down to Best Buy today to look at PS3s. Maybe some of the other stuff I wish I could afford to own. Like a TV bigger than 12 inches.

wally, i shall address both of your posts forthwith:
1) i think we just may someday, and, yes, they will be.
2) i've been there. it only feels good for the first minute or two you're inside the store. then the high goes away.

1) Probably when the PS5 comes out.
2) Yeah, it's like walking into paradise, until you start looking at the price tags and remembering your credit limit.
Re: How to pass the weekends in Cold Lake
every time i walk into best buy, i get this initial rush of infinite potential. i wander lustfully through the aisles and fondle the firm polypropylene packaging.
when i'm walking out with my spool of blank dvds and printer ink, i just feel violated and empty.

haha TD is offering me an $8500 line of credit. I know I don't have the self discipline to go anywhere near it.

It seems like blu ray is one of the only reasons the PS3 is still alive. The 360 has almost all the same games plus a lot that playstation doesn't. The PS3 doesn't offer many exclusive games that I'm at all interested in.

yeah, xbox has a better library, but the exclusives i really care about are on the ps3. (metal gear, god of war, little big planet).
i'd really like both consoles, but i have to get a new comp, so there's just no way.

Re: How to pass the weekends in Cold Lake
I mean shit. I know exactly what would happen. I'd buy a PS3 or an XBox or whatever with one or two games. I'd play them for a couple days - just like I do with my computer games. Then I'd forget about them. The whole thing would just end up being a fancy, expensive DVD player. Might as well look nice in that case.

Isn't there some british gaming console? There is probably some in-depth tea steeping simulation you'd go apeshit over.

i'm with aris. sure, the Xbox has a bigger catalog, but the exclusives on PS3 are the only ones i care about. GT5, GoW, MGS, Little Big Planet, etc.Omni wrote:Aristotle wrote:ps3!

I'd prefer a game that simulated reading philosophy by a fireplace in my evening gown.
