Another great guy left us today, July 20 2014

James Garner, notable for numerous movie and t.v. roles esp. Rockford Files has left us at age 86.

Gear heads will know him from the movie Grand Prix, but also  as Jim Rockford and his often great driving sequences in  the gold Pontiac Firebird Esprit. War era movie fans in the movie The Great Escape (BTW starring many great actors including Steve McQueen)

As to Rockford Files, most consider it as one of the best t.v.  theme songs.

RIP Mr. Garner, you shall be missed but not forgotten.

P.S. I've been getting into watching Rockford Files on MeTV lately. Weekdays at 12 noon PST and Sunday's at 6:00pm PST, DVR it if you  cant watch it live, I do.

Grand Prix's Monaco scenes are one of the few I've seen that really capture the elevation changes. Great movie for car fans.

I always liked James Garner. My grandparents always watched The Rockford Files and Maverick reruns when I was at their house as a kid.
