I just prefer to do it myself.

I don't know how that works, but if you can push it back up to 18 it'll be safe, which will help a little. And, yea, it does make a difference.
Extreme case, but why do you think I took the headlight out of the Eclipse on track days?
I actually need to check mine. I typically run 25psi peak and settles at 23psi so we'll see where it's at now. All my shit is manual, though. One quarter turn of the Hallman and it adds a psi. Done.

Please tell me you are not running E85.
93 is what you should be running with a turbo.

No, but I know alot of guys with high boost run e85 because its equivalent to about a 103 octane or so, so they have less knock. Don't think id ever use it though.

I hope their fuel system is set up for E85, otherwise they're gonna be in a world of hurt.

Better intercooler location. There's a reason most higher hp Subarus move them to the front, where they should be. So much more efficient.
There was an Evo TT team that experimented with dry ice in the intake box.
Here's a pic, not an Evo though. SR20DET?

The 03-04 Evos even came with an IC sprayer...
Mine didn't, so I took it upon myself to go with a bigger, aftermarket IC for less heat-soak.

To help the radiator get some air. The FMIC blocked the airflow to the rad and the water temps would climb. Taking the headlight out and raising the back of the hood with some washers fixed that issue, but figured those last second, ghetto ducts wouldn't hurt.
Every orifice of the front bumper was being used for something: cold air to the intake, brake ducts, oil cooler respectively.

Yeah. Kinda. Its not a POS, he just had a reputable shop build and tune his 500AWHP motor and now its burning oil so he took it back apart and doesn't know what to do next because he doesn't trust the shop.
He did get one head off last night, and is pulling the other tonight. He plans to send them out to get checked for cracks, bent valves, etc. He DID find that one of the heads has incorrect tolerances for valve lash, its WAY too tight.
Re: Midlife Crisis Thread #2
It would cost a fortune to have all that done. Is he rich or does he live at home or something?

Re: Midlife Crisis Thread #2
So I'm getting an Invidia uppipe and catless downpipe tomorrow. So then I'll have those, plus the AEM intake, and cobb stage 2, until i get a protune. Not sure what I should do after that. Injectors or fuel pump maybe? Eventually I guess I might do a turbo swap.

Re: Midlife Crisis Thread #2
Holy shit. So I picked up my car today. Loud as Fuck now and it fucking FLIES. Can't believe how much of a difference the dp and up made. Feels like I got a 20g swap.

Re: Midlife Crisis Thread #2
So I'm probably going to buy a '94 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3 V6 and a 5-spd. 143k, and inspected til next January. $1500. They have 165hp, and it probably weighs about 3000lbs, so it shouldnt be THAT slow.

True, but with the 4.3, be aware of the 20 mpg at the most on a vehicle that old.
Is it a rust bucket?

Re: Midlife Crisis Thread #2
Check the cab corners, and the bedsides. Remember Zuk's Sonoma? Rusted fairly early in life.
I think that year of the 4.3 is still TBI, or maybe the Vortec was an option? If it is the Vortec, FI spiders are known to go bad, and they're 'spensive to replace.
Being a '94 it'll be pre-OBDII and airbags as well. Not sure if you care, but I always tend to stick with '95 and newer cars and trucks for ease of maintenance and safety.
