Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
i would get wireless, just worried about interference though. i have a pair of radioshack wireless headphones and they worked good when i used them with my old CRT tv but with this new lcd they have too much interference to be usable. not sure if that would happen with the TBs or not but i guess i can always return them if it does.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
I just got the Turtle Beach X11's. Look pretty much just like the X1's. I can put up with a few wires if the quality is good. Plus no batteries to worry about.
And can you use these to watch TV? I see they have an adapter to fit into the audio plugs.

I think there's a standard headphone jack you can use, though I imagine you'd have to keep the USB cord plugged into the XBox or something else that will power the headphones.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
God, they really need to let you test drive people's tuning setups before you buy them. You have to buy the setup and then all of the parts just to test it out. That's BS.

Also, I need an easier way to make money. I would like to buy some of those multi-million dollar cars but i would have to race for dozens upon dozens of hours just to afford one. how much have you guys made on the auction house selling tunes, deisgns, etc? I know you've probably made a bundle, Jay.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
I've probably made about 5 million credits on the storefront. A bit over half of all the money I've made however was solely on a NASCAR design for Mark Martin's race car last year. When his paint scheme was redone for this year, I did a redesign to match it but since he's not doing as well this season, neither is my storefront income
I still pull in about 25,000-50,000 on the storefront every week though. I still can't afford a lot of the super-expensive cars as I funnel a lot of that money into building cars for the Goon series, and I don't do well enough in that series to justify selling the tunes for those cars, though the C-class faux-Daytona I made would have done pretty well this past Wednesday had the driver not been an idiot.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
someone said make a crappy tune, claim it's top 100 in the description and sell it for 10k. i would feel pretty guilty doing that though.

sweet, the headphones work with TV. The quality of the voice recordings on the mic seems kinda crappy though, but passable.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
There's a way to "cheat" and do races on one of the benchmark layouts, the one where you can race along the inside while the AI sticks to the track. I heard a 20 or so race is up in 20 minutes or less an can net like, ~200,000 credits.
Otherwise year, paint something cool. Don't talk to me, I maybe make 1,000 per week on the storefront.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
ugh still a big pain in the ass though. 360k credits per hour? not that great, honestly. that would be incredibly monotonous.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
The last two I got old and cheap have stopped working within a week of owning them. This one a friend gave me and it lasted about a year.
I may see if I can just get one from my company. They are technically free now. But, it's the biggest pain in the ass to set that up because I'm an employee.

What kind of shit internet provider do you have anyways? Usually they supply the routers.

If by supply you mean let you lease one for more than the cost of a standard modem, then yeah.
I don't know how it would work for SBF though, since I don't live in a company service area and can't get free services
So...Forza Kinect? I'm intrigued by the head tracking portion of things, but not so much the invisible controller aspect. I understand you can still use a standard controller with it, so I'd be down with utilizing the head tracking in conjunction with it.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
and next time get a surge protector for it. i hope you have your tv and xbox plugged into one.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
if they could hook up the head tracking to let you look around inside the car, that would fucking rule. that's one of the things i hate about cockpit view, i cant see if someone is beside me or not too easily.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
this is fucking bullshit, some of my cars have started to vanish from my garage. just dropped 450k on an aston martin db5 the other day and now it's gone. of course my money is still gone too. and the 1960 corvette i've had for months just disappeared in the past couple days. no way would i have sold or gifted either of these cars. i'm afraid to build any new cars now. this is like san andreas all over again.

Ok I'm throwing this out there, but I hate that you can't put vinyl over black plastic pieces of trim, there's probably 4 or 5 cars I want to put plates on that I can't. They really should fix that.

Yeah, that was a big complaint in Forza 2 as well. I'm disappointed that they didn't fix that when F3 came out.

I used the R35 GTR tonight. Forgot how much of a pig it is unmodified. It felt like I was driving my grandmother's oldsmobile.

You want an even more accurate representation of that? Drive the Taurus SHO. That thing is a fucking whale. No amount of tuning will get that thing to steer.
