I've never been much of a fan of the C1 Vette, myself.

It pisses me off that so many people seem to have advance copies. Apparently people who pre-ordered through Wal-Mart to have their games shipped to their home are getting them NOW instead of the 27th when they're supposed to be in stores. :smelly:

I checked walmart.com, and if you wanted to spring for 1-day shipping, you can get it on Friday (yeah, 1-day shipping takes 4 days). I'm not spending that much, though.

Oh, and the rest of the world gets the game before the official NA release date. :smelly:

I just realized I am not going to get to play this game for at least a week after its release. You see, I am moving the last weekend of the month and since at the time I ordered the game from Best Buy (to get the $30 off) I wasn't sure if I'd be at my current location, so I had it shipped to my mom's place. Won't see her until that weekend and even then I will be moving so who knows how long it will be until I get everything set up/ settled in. PLUS, the new Ratchet & Clank game comes out the day before FZ3 and I am much more looking forward to that.

Reading around the forum, it appears they're not banning people for simply playing early, but for getting the game illegitimately. It sounds like people who bought the game and have receipts for it are not getting banned.

oh, and have you guys heard about the multiplayer in forza 3, it sounds like people are saying you can either do a private match, where you can choose the track, options, etc. but can only invite and play with your xbox live friends, or do a matchmaking thing which throws you into a random room with random people and random settings, which are unable to be changed by anyone, even the host. no more searching for specific race types or criteria.

sounds like it could severely cripple the online aspect, that is fucking lame.

So yeah.......FM3 has gone strictly matchmaking so you can no longer search for open public games with a server browser. You will no longer be able to join rooms with the advanced options you like to race with. So if you like driving 300hp rwd cars with all assists off you are out of luck unless the matchmaking throws you in a room where you are "lucky" enough to be appointed the host. Get ready to be thrown into room after room of oval track GT40 races w/auto braking and no say whatsoever because you are not the host.

The only real choice you have is creating a private lobby and inviting friends...but wait.... if it's 2 o'clock in the morning and none of your friends are online guess what? Your gonna be racing yourself.

What a stupid move by turn 10...they could of just included matchmaking for the ignorant and a server browser for the rest of us. Oh well, another dumbed down online experience for the masses. I will still buy it for single player though.

I read something that indicated what you're describing is with ranked matches only. And that you should still be able to be matchmade into a general race type but maybe won't be able to pick certain options. With unranked matches, It looks like you can still set options for public matches and host a game room. Or something like that...I'm seeing a lot of conflicting stuff. I understand it's something to prevent groups of people to get together and boost each others' rankings by drafting each other and whatnot.

I don't have all of the details, but it still sounds pretty restrictive.

EDIT: And also, some aspects of online room setups may not be fully live since the game isn't "officially" out yet.

Man, this is such a tease. It seems like everyone is getting the game early besides us. It's not just people outside the US anymore.

In the future I'm gonna stop reserving games and just look for retailers that do whatever the fuck they want and sell games before they're supposed to.
