i'm in a keeper league. 3 keepers this year. here's my roster from last year (it got me 5th out of 10) and their stats.
passing rushing receiving returning

so. who do i keep?
thinking Turner and Manning, and let the third slot go to the auxiliary preliminary draft (in which we draft until everyone has 3 players "kept" then the real draft begins.

Anthony Gonzales is going to be a big part of the Colts offense with Harrison gone. He might be worth looking into keeping.
Minnesota's QB situation is very uncertain and you can't go by a preseason game, but Shiancoe looked really good last night and was making Rosenfels look good. He could potentially have a big year for a TE, but I don't know if he'd be worth keeping.

as long as you don't have fitzgerald or polamalu on your team, you're good. if you've got either of them, then you have to cut them asap.

i can't see gonzalez as a keeper. if i had wayne... gonz would be great, but there will be WRs all over in the preliminary draft. i'll get my pick. of course, doubling up on points is nice though.
manning and turner for sure. grant? maybe? he's a top 20 back...

keep in mind there will be other, possibly better players on the board at that time. including some top flight WRs.
actually, i just ran thru other ppls rosters and comparo'd...
i definitely am going to leave Ryan Grant behind.

I like Grant but he only went in the tenth or so in my live draft last night. This was after 2 offensive keepers (Andre Johnson + Randy Moss...yeah) as well.
Of those the safe pick is Anthony Gonzales and the riskier is McFadden. Before his toe injury he kicked a whole lot of ass last yr.

My Team:
QB: Matt Schaub and Matt Cassel. I need to make a trade here, if only for depth.
WR: Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Michael Crabtree, Percy Harvin. Kept 2 monsters so picked high risk/high return WRs late.
RB: Marion Barber, Darren McFadden, Darren Sproles, Marshawn Lynch. Likely will use Lynch as one of the 2 leads after his suspension.
TE: Chris Cooley. Caught end of a TE run, lucky I got him.
Who gives a fuck about kickers and we play IDP so I got Patrick Willis, Demeco Ryans and Jerod Mayo

If you play 3WRs those are awful. Otherwise a pretty good team, lots of doubling up pts with one of the more reliable QBs in the league.

I had Holmes last year and he was very hit-or-miss. Likely that won't change. Gonzales could be explosive this year but we won't know exactly what his role will be for a while. Since you have Peyton at QB he might really pay off for you though.
Re: okay... DRAFT TIME! advice, opinions, whatever. FANTASY FOOTBALL 09!
yeah, i need WR help, truly. thinking of making a trade somewhere.

would you trade Zach Miller and Greg Jennings for Dallas Clark and Donald Driver?

Given your situation it's hit or miss really. Dallas/Peyton make arguably the best combo in the league, but Greg Jennings should well outperform Donald Driver.
I do like to diversify though - I'd personally take it. Having Manning, Gonzales and Clark will eventually fuck you. Just much less likely to do so than other QB/WR/TE combinations.
Also, are any high risk WRs available on the wire?

Clark is one of the top three TEs in the league, possibly the best depending on who you ask.
Gonzo *might* have a good season.
I'd hedge my bets and go with Clark.
Re: okay... DRAFT TIME! advice, opinions, whatever. FANTASY FOOTBALL 09!
Yeah those free agents suck.
Clark is a top-3 TE, but the difference between good and great WRs is bigger than the difference between good and great TEs.
And trading away one of your better wideouts probably isn't a good idea - keep depth, especially if you play 3 WRs. Jennings, Gonzales and Holmes isn't the worst combo you can put out there.
Last piece of advice - drop Deion Branch. For anybody.

If you don't have a waiver request for either Ben Watson or Jeremy Shockey you're crazy. I'm 2nd waiver position in both leagues I'm in right now so will def. get one of em.

And it's not necessarily about your needs, it's about gaining trade value.
If either Watson or Shockey builds a real rapport with their QB they'll be a top 3 TE if not top 1. Then Dallas Clark (or one of those two guys) becomes some serious fucking trade bait.
Note that while Carlson got 2 TDs this week I'm not telling you to run and pick him up. Hasselbeck ain't no Brees and certainly ain't no Brady.

the haters are eating dicks right now. i remember some fag "fantasy expert" saying that manning would be a bust this year.
HA!
41 points.
FORTY FUCKING ONE POINTS. and 12 to clark. for a tight end, he is outperforming most of my WRs. Driver monstered today too. my RBs didn't even show up though. thank god turner got that TD. i shoulda played benson. but i thought that if there was ANY time to play grant, it was against STL. fuck.

I'd drop choice long before Sproles
And I just made a trade myself:
to me: Terrel Owens and Kellen Winslow
from me: Percy Harvin, Jeremy Shockey (note above trade value talk!), Darren Sproles
PS I don't need Owens, it's a depth pickup. Still have Moss and Andre Johnson as my two WRs.

choice is getting the majority of the carries on dallas, a run-heavy team these days. sproles hasn't run very much at all this season. he's a receiver, basically...
i mean, when do you play him?
and choice did really well this week.

I don't.
With Barber recovering and Jones returning after the bye Choice is effectively valueless unless your live rosters are huge.
Sproles will contribute further as the season progresses and Tomlinson breaks down.

Re: okay... DRAFT TIME! advice, opinions, whatever. FANTASY FOOTBALL 09!
So before the 4:00 games start, I'm looking at my fantasy league thinking, "I still have a chance at winning my game, that is if Carson Palmer manages to throw 5 touchdowns. So I guess my week is fucked."
And I'll be a son of a bitch, he did it.
(sorry BJ).
I still need for Brandon Jacobs to break his ankle on his way out of the tunnel tonight, though.

Brandon Jacobs gets no more than 9 fantasy points in a game all year, and he got 11 before halftime. Fffffffuuuuuuuuu...

you have Cutler, Flacco, Reggie Wayne and Celek (PHI TE), and i have Manning, Roethlisberger, Santonio Holmes, and Dallas Clark. Would you trade me Wayne and Celek for Big Ben, Holmes, and Clark?
