Harper tries to look like a regular 'just another guy' with the silly sweater he wears and his soft talk in Conservative ads but we all know who he is the whore to. And if he gets a majority typical, honest working Canadians will suffer as he calls "let them have cake" from his ivory tower. He is no saint for our nation and he is just a control freak. Canadians posting here just name (without looking it up) 3 cabinet ministers in his govt? At least with Martin, Chretien and even dick-wad Mulroney I was able to crack off most if not all cabinet ministers of the day.

The whole system is a fucking joke. Harper's a creep, Layton's a whack job, Dion's a moron, May is a non-entity, and Duceppe is from Quebec.

Every single party leader is fucking terrible. But the good news is that, unlike the American election, it really doesn't matter...

No shit. It's sad when the best politician running is a fucking separatist. That said I'm probably voting NDP this year. They came within a couple hundred votes of winning against the conservative in Edmonton-Strathcona, so it'd be cool if we can shift at least one district in Alberta from Harper to anyone else.

Although I wonder what's going to happen to Canada. A lot of our financial institutions are heavily tied to America. Ffffuck. Probably won't be any better here.

We will hurt on the level of our ties to the US economy but our banking system is still fucked up but its does have more regulations to help buffer us. Funny thing is FUCK WAD Harper hides behind the skirt of regulation now but he, Day, Manning all wanted us to do the same thing the USA did over the las decade or so. 40% of Canadians are too stupid to see this point though. Paul Martin is hardly a socialist but he first as finance minister and later as P.M. never did allow the same level of deregulation as in the USA.

all those oil sands projects are going to get ass-fucked, as well. oil is back below $100.

Tar sands are profitable as long as oil stays above $65 barrel.

The failing economic system will force people to conserve fuel though to save money which will probably slow down the development of the Tar sands.

yeah, except they won't be able to get any loans to fund daily operation.
