Drove a friend's 2002 330Ci... 600 miles
Long story short, a buddy if mine bought a 2002 BMW 330Ci with sport package (whatever that means, I think it had an M3 suspension set-up and wider wheels?) that was pretty close to me. Thing is, he lives about 600 miles away. So, he bought the car sight unseen (I confirmed everything was legit before paying the guy) and I picked it up and drove it to him.
Of all the cars to have to drive for 9.5 hours, this was pretty nice. the 3.0l provides plenty of torque on the highway or other driving. It was fun driving through the mountains and shit... it had brand new tires. My only complaint was the stick shifter was pretty far away from me. My elbow was almost locked reaching for it while it was in 5th. Not that big of deal I guess, but nice car all around. He paid for the gas and my flight back, which saved him about $400 over shipping it, and I got to get some wheel time behind a 330Ci and a free few day vacation by the beach.
Had he bought a 1994 Civic I probably wouldn't have volunteered to drive it down there

Nice. I've never driven a BMW at all to be honest. I really want to get behind the wheel of an M3 someday.

Well, it's not 2008 Honda Civic LX, but it'll do. I guess.

Sport means it's got a harder suspension, sport seats, power adjustement for the calves in the front seats and a different steering wheel.

dude,
drive one, you will instantly know the difference between japanese, american, and german cars.
american...cheaply made, pretty reliable, no attention to driving
japanese...made far better than american, far more reliable, attention to function and fun factor if applicable
german...more expensive to start, maintenance is higher if something major fucks up, but dammit they know what they are doing, and its a totally different driving experience. my 1970 unrestored bmw 2002 still 'felt' like a bmw. granted it was original and had over 300k miles on the motor and transmission, and only 3rd-4th gears worked smoothly, it was still the shit and was awesome to drive, and i bought a good cond. replacement trans for 50 bucks lol.
sargev55- Woeful noob
