Wally, why not do in-house dealer financing? They do have that in Canadia, right?

You can always refinance later.

If I have to I will, but I'd rather not. I'd like to pay off the loan more quickly than scheduled. If you do that through a dealer you still pay as much since they make you pay off the interest in full first, and then work on the principal. With a bank you can save interest by paying off the loan early.

He just needs to wait until he's actually worked at this job and received a pay cheque from them. Suspect

You've waited this long, now just wait another month damnit. :smelly:

Do failed loan applications go down on your credit history?

I don't see why they would... but you're right. Worst case scenario I just wait until I start working, then I go in with a check stub and fail to mention the fact that I'm on probation. Easy enough.

Canada is filled with Nazi Communist bastards. We should declare war on them. But instead of guns, we could use bubbles.

You're not pointing out the obvious. How is this car an expensive compromise? Where's the compromise? I have a good job now, I've earned a car that has ABS, airbags, air conditioning, and power locks / windows / mirrors.

I'm wouldn't be spending any more money next year.
but it's also definitely true that you could get a used car with all that stuff for easily half the price.

I want a newer - 2003 or later Subaru Impreza. And the point here is that it's insane that I can't get an $18,000.00 car loan.

If I wanted a basic, $1000 car, to get me from point A to B, I'll keep the one I have. I'm also not taking out thousands in loans for a car that's only a small improvement over the Corolla.
