Trying to get approved for a car loan....
Got a car in mind and everything. Should be hearing from the bank as to whether they'll approve me.
Fuck I hope this works.
Updates to come.

Oh you want a V8 SUV, sign here, if you have a pulse you can have one.

Yeah. Prius is way too much for me. Used 2007 Subaru Impreza Wagon is what I'm looking at.

I'm not willing to take on that much debt right now. So no.
Mini = too much for what you get.
Miata = new cars too expensive, not enough room for long road trips, no ability to mount kayaks / bikes etc.
Corolla = too boring. Seriously. I like the car, but I want something with a pulse.
Cayman = hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
135 = way the fuck too expensive. Same thing with a 128
335 = are you fucking high?
Evo = out of my price range, not easily available in Canada.

After the Wally Wagon, I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the Impreza

I don't think a Cayman, a 135, a 335, or an Evo were ever in those threads.

If this ends up working out, I might actually live through an accident... were I to have one.

I already proved you can mount a kayak on the Miata.

You should really look at the corolla / matrix, cause they're running the camry 4-banger (almost 170 hp). I think that they have a sporty model with tighter suspension as well.

Wally's car search ends. Wasn't approved. Apparently 4 years of university + a 3 year law degree + $58,000.00 a year job won't get you a car loan.
Fuck this shit. FUCK IT.
GOD DAMN BULLSHIT.

Nope. I have no debt, and make all my payments on time.
Their reason, here, was that I was technically "on probation" with the government for the first year. I had brought in a letter of employment.
If I brought in a check stub I'd probably have gotten the loan.

hahaha it's awesome.
Here's the best part. They pre-approved me for a $10,000.00 unsecured personal loan, a $12,000.00 line of credit, and a bump on my VISA limit to $11,500.00. But, they won't give me an $18,000.00 secured personal loan to buy a car.
FUCK THEM.

Re: Trying to get approved for a car loan....
it's cause you're still temporary at your job. they have no security that you'll last there long enough, maybe you'll give up, maybe the company don't like you, they don't know.
Re: Trying to get approved for a car loan....
hate to point out the obvious but why the fuck do you need an $18,000 car? If you need transport $1,000 will get you something that runs well until you can get something thats not an expensive compromise

he has a cheap car already. he wanted to move up a class now that he has a paying job.

That's the logic, but it makes no sense when they'll give me $10,000 unsecured anyway. Also, all real jobs have some sort of probation period, and lets face it, if you're doing badly enough to lose a job after the probation period, chances are you'd be fired during a regular, non-probation period anyway.

You're not pointing out the obvious. How is this car an expensive compromise? Where's the compromise? I have a good job now, I've earned a car that has ABS, airbags, air conditioning, and power locks / windows / mirrors.
I'm wouldn't be spending any more money next year.

What I don't get is that there really isn't any rhyme or reason behind it. It can't just be a security thing. They're offering me, upfront almost 34 thousand in various borrowing mechanisms - all unsecured. My suspicion, unfounded, is that they'd rather deny me a personal car loan, and try to get me into a line of credit, which is a lot more lucrative for them - since they're so tempting to pay down, and then use again.
