This thread is sad for me.

Our dog that was bought back when my parents were still together, which is 15 years ago on it's own, is on her last legs.

Going on 18 1/2 years old now she's led a very slow boring life in the backyard of pubs for the last 10 years, which I imagine is the only reason she's still going.

After a couple of months I saw her a few weeks ago with my mom having taken over a new pub. Since then i've been sadly looking forward to hearing that she's died because each of her pained slow steps broke my heart a little.

It's just Bella and myself living in my house these days.















She had to have surgery and she got really skinny for a while. She's still not back to normal.

I'd love to have a dog but it would be a pain in the ass if I wanted to go somewhere. At least if you leave a cat for a few days it can be alright with the littler box and all.

They're actually the smallest of the retriever breed, about 45 lbs. Not a big guy at all.

Those pics are old so those are before he got fat. Turned out he had a thyroid problem and pills helped him drop the weight back to normal. Shitty that I don't have any recent pictures of the little fucker. Should be going home real soon to see him.

Honestly, it's the one thing I miss most about home. Before I moved away (living at home for a few months between last apt in halifax and ottawa) he always slept on my parents bed but after they went to work he came down and slept with me. He'd sleep till whenever I felt like but the second I said 'let's go' he'd jump up and be ready for the day.

Wet from the local lake. Unfortunately he got some bad rashes from swimming in it (it's really polluted) so he can't go anymore. He'd chase that orange thing to the end of the world. While walking he wouldn't let me carry it, he'd jump and be a little fucker until I gave it to him. Even if it was in my pocket.

The worst part is I know I can't have one right now.

The apartment specifically forbids it, but it also forbid smoking and I smoke weed every day in it. It's moreso that I can't give a pup the time it deserves. What I need to do it get a live in girlfriend and just go get a dog.

Our leasing agent just added a no-pet policy --- it's a good thing we didn't have a cat or dog since it wasn't originally in our lease a few years ago --- so we have to hold off on a dog for a little while.
