Yeah, it looks like it grips well, but only the most dedicated and blown-out whores will be able to wrap their snatch around it.

Re: Production Camaro shots released
I like that car. A lot. The interior is almost too futuristic for my tastes... but the exterior. Holy shit.

looks awesome.
those headlights look 100000x better than the lights they were using in those camouflaged cars that were on the net a couple of months ago.

Yeah the lights on the camo cars were never intended to be the final ones...just placeholders until the real ones were ready. I learned apparently that head lights and tail lights are some of the last things to get designed on cars these days.
Re: Production Camaro shots released
i think they did a great job with the interior. i love the retro speedo and tach.

Re: Production Camaro shots released
They're expecting to sell 100,000-150,000 of them per year, so I don't think they're looking at it as a niche vehicle.

Did you see the center console guages?Aristotle wrote:i think they did a great job with the interior. i love the retro speedo and tach.
One is a Torque (Lb Ft) guage.
WTF?

That's because Oil Pressure or Battery Voltage isn't important.

I love that GM went from making SUV's to overweight musclecars. No one is gonna buy this.

Re: Production Camaro shots released
I think they could have done something more innovative with the reverse lights. Being in the middle of the bumper looks like crap.

Re: Production Camaro shots released
as of now they are holding off on the z28, but you will be able to get an RS/SS
Re: Production Camaro shots released
They have an LS, an LT, and an SS, with an RS package available for the LT and SS trimlines. They said that since they're going with the SS badge Chevy-wide for the top dog in each model, they won't be doing a Z28.

I imagine with all the various "specialty" models of Mustang, I imagine we'll eventually see a Z-28, but it will a homage to the the original, there will probably be Trans-Am retro models like Saleen has made the Mustang into with the Parnelli Jones and Dan Gurney editions.

I think it might do better than the Challenger, though. But I've always thought the Challenger is a giant hunk of shit, so my prediction is based solely on that.

I think that the main downfall of the Challenger is the lack of trim packages/options. There is gonna be a SE 3.5L V6 with a four speed automatic only (why you Chrysler tards?), then goes straight to the R/T which will have the 5.7L Hemi with five speed auto or six speed Tremec, and then the SRT8 with the 6.1L Hemi supposedly getting the six speed gear box as well.
The Mustang and the Camaro, are virtually in the same boat, but believe it or not, there are a lot of people that buy V6 Mustangs and Camaros with manuals. I would like to see what GM has in store for the engine/trans packages for the Camaro.

They released those earlier today...and the choices are much better with regards to the low and mid-range options than what Dodge is offering....
An advanced, efficient 3.6L V6 DI VVT engine is standard on LS and LT models. Direct injection technology helps the engine offer more power, while maintaining efficiency and lowering emissions.
The Camaro 3.6L engine also employs variable valve timing to optimize performance and efficiency across the rpm range. It is rated at a projected 300 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard with the 3.6L engine, and a Hydra-Matic 6L50 electronically controlled six-speed automatic with overdrive and TAPshift control is available, and it delivers an estimated 26 MPG highway.1
The high-performance Camaro SS is equipped with a powerful 6.2L V8, with a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The standard manual transmission-equipped models receive the LS3 engine, rated a projected 422 horsepower and 408 lb.-ft. of torque. The LS3 debuted on the 2008 Corvette and uses high-flow cylinder heads based on the Corvette Z06 LS7 engine to enable great low-end torque and high-rpm power. It is paired with a TR6060 six-speed manual transmission.
A new, L99 engine is used on automatic transmission-equipped SS models. It is based on the LS3 and carries all of its high-performance design features, but also includes GM's Active Fuel Management technology. It enables the engine to run on only four cylinders during light-load driving conditions, such as highway cruising. The L99 is rated at a projected 400 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque and it is matched with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to deliver an estimated 23 MPG highway1.
Re: Production Camaro shots released
If that is the 3.6L DI that is in the Cadillac CTS then that's a hell of a motor and would be a great engine in the Camaro as a base engine. With a Six-Speed hangin off the back of that engine......sweeeet.
Are they going to have an engine for the RS? Or is the RS just a trim package with the V6?
This will be interesting though, The Mustang is supposedly going to get a Turbo 4, Turbo 6 and a V8 in the next couple of years.

the way i understand it the RS is a package that you could put on any model, its upgrades are separate from everything else, just like the old daysz

I would imagine you're right, but I have a hard time believing that because nothing is like the old days.
