Watching topics?

Why am I all of a sudden watching topics when all I did was reply to them this morning? Getting emails about new posts. Weird.

Do you use a smartphone sometimes when looking at the site?

Only now that its emailing me.

I am getting the same thing. Every time someone replys to Jay's topic I get an email. I'm about to just block the email address or something.

PS - No smartphone.

It's doing it to me too, but I have bumped the "watch topic" button more than once on my iPhone, that's why I ask.

Oh, it started with Jay's topic, then one of Wally's(?), then this one.

It did that for me too for some reason. Maybe I bumped something on my own smartphone made everyone watch it? I don't know. Is that the only thread that's happening on?

If so, and if you haven't already done so, hit "Actions" at the top right of the thread, put a checkmark next to the thread title, and hit the "Stop Watching" button, and see if that stops it for good or if it does it again.

Go into your profile preferences, and see if the Always Notify Me of Replies option has been switched on:



Mine was turned on for some inexplicable reason. If you turn it off, see if stays turned off. I'll dig and see if I goofed something up in the Admin settings.

(EDIT: Some forumotion users discovered that this has been switched on for users in their forums. I don't have a way to turn it off for everyone, so we'll all have to turn it off individually.)

Didn't fix my issue, I went under the "Topic(s) Being Watched" Tab in my profile and manually removed them.

I think you have to do both, stop watching new topics, AND un-watch the ones you posted in that set you up to automatically watch them.

fixed mine. didn't even know this was happening though til I saw the ticker...I really don't check my e-mail very often.

I just addded the default email address to be blocked/spam because I keep getting them regardless of what I do. I'll remove it when this is fixed.
