watching "pet sematary"
It's hilarious and creepy all the same. Like, when Louis euthanizes the zombie cat to actually kill, I think he really drugs the cat. And at the end, when he drugs Gage, the kid falls down and actually hits his head on the door. You don't see that kind of realism anymore.
Children can take a little abuse for the sake of art!

Well, duh. Almost all of Stephen King's books are better than the movies.
"Creepshow" was awesome though.

when is that ever not the case? with any author? good luck cramming a book's worth of detail into a 2 hour movie.

I sort of liked Christine.
The book is still better, but the movie was pretty decent.

...is there any reason why he mispelled the word cemetary?
Turbofrog- mis'-e-ry (n.) 1. wretchedness of condition or circumstances. 2. Me.

Re: watching "pet sematary"
it's because the cemetery was supposed to have been made and used predominately by kids, and they just misspelled it on the sign near the entrance

I think the worst Stephen King movie I've ever seen was "Rose Red." Or maybe "The Langoliers."

Tommyknockers was probably the worst movie I have ever seen. "Fear not, I will save the human race from the rubber queen alien on the ship!" Comical.

Movies are always better than books because they don't involve having to read.

Weren't those both ABC made-for-TV movies? Probably explains a lot.
Re: watching "pet sematary"
How about The Stand? That was pretty good. Also another made for TV one.

Re: watching "pet sematary"
Has anyone read "The Regulators" under his Bachman pseudonym? It was released at the same time as "Desperation" and it has the same characters, just in a different universe. It's kind of crazy because you get this set idea about the characters and they're completely shaken up in the other novel.

Re: watching "pet sematary"
The Langoliers gave me nightmares when I saw it when I was a kid...I think I was like eight when it came on TV. Especially when they came out of the woods, all I can remember were three-jawed spikeballs with chainsaw teeth. uuugh.xtine wrote:I think the worst Stephen King movie I've ever seen was "Rose Red." But most of the rest of the movie was like "okay, get to the point."

Re: watching "pet sematary"
Langolier was awsome, except for the effects Bronson Pinchot was hilarious in it!
The Stand was easily the best King novel adapted to the screen. Would have been much better if it could have done for the BIG screen though. But then we would have a LOTR type trilogy.
And King oughta save that for the Dark Tower.
I can't wait.

First time I saw that movie I was like eight and at a friend's house. We were watching it in the basement and his dad thought it'd be funny to sneak down and make mean cat sounds from behind the corner.
