Yeah, and its pretty fun. Don't know why you can't choose the color of cars you buy though. Not only that, but the car is a different color pretty much every time you drive it.

Can you paint the car any color once you buy it?

No, but you can re-spawn in in one of the garages as many times as you need until it comes out in the color you want.
OOoooh, I did the Cannonball Run movie thingy last night, you get to drive a Countach, and most of the other notable movie cars are there..... they did get the ambulance wrong though.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
I really don’t understand these fuckmoneky game developers. Why, oh why don’t they let the user do something as fundamental as pick a color of his or her car? GT5 was the same way on those “basic” cars of whatever they were called.
I don’t get the reasoning… I’d have loved to be a fly on the wall during that meeting. Idiots. That was one of the best parts about the FM series… you could customize your car to no end. Now you can’t even pick the color? That’s like step number one!?!?
/rant.

Yeah, its dumb. And the paint chip idea from gt5 is absurd.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
The game is about DRIVING, not collecting cars in the perfect shade of Idon'tgiveafuck.
I spent my first few $100,000 on cars then was like.... fuck it, half the time I'm driving I see a better car on the street that I do not own, and can not buy, and shift into it. Plus when doing half of the Movie scenes and Stunts and Story missions, it puts you in a specific car ANYWAYS.
If you want a SIM racer, get Forza or GT4, or some PC games I heard about but don't know fuck about.
If you want to have a good 'ol time smashing and jumping and crashing, get Driver SF.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
Choosing a color is such a basic feature, nothing sim like about it. And most car games focus on the driving, but they let you choose colors too.

Wellllllll if you reeeeally want a sim, you usually can't buy a used car in any color you want anyways. And since there's not body shop in town (or WalMart for rattle cans), you're stuck with what you find.
Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
I am pretty sure I can have a car painted any damn color I want. And I do have a body shop not too far away from me.
Quit trying to defend their moronic decision making. Just because none of your POS cars are in the game doesn't mean others aren't. If I buy an Evo, VIII, IX, whatever, want it to be blue; if I buy an RSXS I want it to be black. Too much to ask? Fuck no.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
The colors are already in the game, why not let us pick one? You say its about the driving and not customization, then why not make all the cars the same color all the time? Its not a big deal and I still have fun playing the game, I just don't understand the logic these developers use sometimes.

Hey buddy, I've had a Crown Vic and a Neon, they're in the game. You don't see me complaining the Vic should have woodgrain on the dash for the taxi and civilian models only but NOOO, its on the police version too. Or that the Neon's brake lights light up like an export version, which had the upper half of the tail lights as amber turn signals but NOOOO, they're ALL RED so the WHOLE thing should light up but doesn't.
Its a game. For having fun. If I could get a Patriot Blue Neon or a Toreador Red Crown Victoria I'd be happy. For a second. Like I said, so many cool cars pass you that you want to drive, or you want to so shift across town to do something and not waste time driving there so you leave your car and go find something else.
Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
I just did this stunt activity where you have to drive a bomb rigged school bus across town keeping it above 70 or it blows.

I seriously can't believe you're trying to justify their decision to not let the user pick a color of a car. I mean, seriously? The color... doesn't get any more basic than that. Birds of a feather...

yeah, that's a peeve of mine when I can't pick the color of a car. sure it's purely cosmetic, but still; it's such a basic thing.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
I just unlocked the Pacer, but I can't paint it like the Mirth Mobile, WAAAHHH!!!!
Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
Talon, have you even PLAYED this game?
Seriously, one spin around the block and you won't give two shits about what color your car is. You'll never visit the dealer and buy new cars either unless you need a certain car for a Dare. Or a fast enough one to catch big air off the jumps to get all the movie tokens *cough*FordGT*cough*

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
No, I haven't played the game. Will probably get it eventually. Maybe once the price drops or something but MW3 comes out before too long... so maybe not.
So you're telling me if they allowed you to change colors you would never do it? Yea you would. It's not even the paint color, just the fact they left something out that's so ridiculously simple I don’t get.

I intend to get it once its in the 35 range
It would be nice, but I don't really care that you can't, its just not that kinda game.

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
Tail there are faster cars than the GT. Just got a McLaren F1 and a Lambo LP 470 or whatever its called. And that's awd.

I know, I haven't unlocked them yet. I'm gay, I do all the side missions dares and shit before the Tanner missions.

I would. But like I said, I spend so little time in just one car so..... OH, and there's a '77 Firebird in there (T/A, mine was a Esprit) so I'd want to paint that Buckskin yellow or whatever the fuck that gold color my car was is called.
Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
I have started playing this game online. It's pretty fun. And quite insane...

It was insane playing the online demo, I'm fearing playing the full release online.
I'll stick to the story missions for now.

My buddy bought me COD black ops for my birthday, but I already own it, so I'm gonna go trade it in for Driver SF

The only game modes I have been playing are tag and trailblazer. Both fun but pretty hard to compete with the high level ppl since not only do they have more experience but all the level up unlockables too.

What's with these comcast commercials acting like they have great customer service now because they're making a commitment for their techs to be on time for their appointments? You're supposed to be on time dickheads.

But sometimes you can't. Like ANY OTHER BUSINESS ON THIS GOD FORSAKEN EARTH, there are forces that you can't control. So they give people a $25 credit if the technician is late to the appointment. I don't know another telecommunications company has a deal like that.

Yeah, but that's late every once in a while. What if your technicians are lazy and routinely show up late? probably a good excuse to weed out the ones that aren't performing as they should, too.
if you are always late, you're costing the company money and should get fired. if you're not, you have nothing to worry about.

The company I work for does that too, as does the provider I'm paying for my own service.

On time performance is one of the several criteria that make up my performance numbers. I'm supposed to stay above 95% On Time each month. If I don't, I get written up. You try your damnedest to stay on time regardless what the customer perceives. I guarantee most of our techs aren't "lazy". Like I said, things sometimes are out of your control and you end up late. Regardless if I show up or not, the sub is given a $25 credit to thier bill and while that doesn't seem like much, a lot of people make a big deal about it because they now see it advertised on TV.

I don't think any of the dish companies or phone companies have that. At least it's not advertised. We don't have any other cable providers in the area, so I don't know who has it or not.

Yeah, they're both cable companies. The provider I do business with doesn't advertise it on TV, but I have seen signs hanging up at the front counter that mention the guarantee. I don't think the company I work with advertises it either, but we're to proactively offer it if the situation comes up.

I unlocked the full city last night.
But quit playing to spend time with the wife. :jay:

Re: Not many games let you drive an AMC Pacer and an Olds Vista Cruiser.
not saying they are lazy, and perhaps using "Most of the techs" was a bit hasty, but it was meant as a hypothetical situation. I was just saying that it was a good idea to keep the bus rolling, sorta like the pizza in "30 minutes or less" thing that nobody does anymore because in our future it now takes 45 minutes just to cook a pizza.SBF wrote:In reply to TJ:

I have however gotten lazy, aloof technicians before. it is annoying.

Two chapters to go and I have a feeling I won't be playing this anymore. Forza4 demo came out this morning.
