Dragging out old games
I found my old copy of SimCity 4, and I've been hard at work putting together my little computerized ant farms while trying to maintain my tenuous grip on my sanity. After importing a terrain map, I've been putting stupid painstaking detail in accurately representing the area highway system (at least, as close as the game will allow), though some of the cities have blown up way bigger than their real-life counterparts. I've got maybe a third of the map covered (there's a lot not pictured).
Re: Dragging out old games
I haven't played that game in quite some time. It's pretty complex.

I had 'Sim Island' a long time ago. That was a fun game too.

Re: Dragging out old games
The Sims 3 comes out in June!
I've actually been scouring the net to find a decent Atari 2600 set for my dad. His birthday is next month and I think it'd be neat to give him an Atari; we used to have one with a ton of games --- there's even a picture of me as a baby playing the Atari --- but my mom shipped it off to Korea one day.
My favorite game ever was Dolphin.

Awesome Jay, I have always enjoyed the SimCity games. I think they need to bring back a new version of SimFarm, That was my favorite.

I like all kinds of games. There are a few genres I don't like, such as fighters and 3rd-person action games, but even with those I'll make some exceptions.
It's a fun time waster. Having all kinds of flexibility to build things how you want them and watch it grow is interesting, and I like a game like this that will let me go at my own pace.

there's a guy in my class that plays one of those games during class. i don't think he's taken a single note throughout the quarter.

Re: Dragging out old games
Transport Tycoon was my favourite of these games and it was even fun to play networked. You could build train tracks across the other guy's bus and trucking routes in order to destroy their vehicles at level crossings. You then claimed you had no choice but to build that line because it was the most direct route from one city to anothe. The fun and politics never stopped...
Apart from that, I only really played Sim City 2000 and Theme Park. Which were both ok.

I didn't play Rollercoaster Tycoon, but I watched a friend play it. Looked pretty good.
