Winter Olympics Thread
Lindsay Vonn won the Gold in the Womens downhill and she is absolutely gorgeous.
Shaun White won the Half Pipe and he decimated the rest. I am impressed by how much higher he can get strait air than everyone else. Oh yeah, nice slip up by his coach on live tv.
Shani Davis won another gold. Very impressive.
Huge win for the USA today.

he dropped the f bomb, when White was pretty much handed the gold, he still had to make his 2nd run yet. He wasn't sure if he wanted to do the run, so he asked the coaches what to do, they were telling him to do some different tricks, then his main coach said something along the lines of "Do whatever you want, do something fucking awesome." I love slip-ups.

It was my 93 year old grandfathers birthday today, so my family (not me) went over there to celebrate with him. All the old man wanted to do was watch the hockey game.

I much prefer the winter olympics. A lot of the events are fun to watch (high face-plant risk).

I don't see how you don't find it at least remotely interesting. At the very least one of the nice things about the olympics is that when there isn't anything else on tv it's usually entertaining enough to be worth watching.

I definitely like the winter olympics over the summer olympics. I really enjoy bobsledding. But almost everything except for curling and figure skating is pretty exciting to watch.

What? No way, the summer Olympics rock. Probably because I can actually do some of the stuff they do - swim, play basketball, sail (a little), run, bicycle, etc. While I can't ski, skate, or throw myself down a tube on a table with blades.

See I don't know how to ski or snowboard but I've always wanted to and the stuff they are able to do on both is amazing. I have always wanted to bobsled. Something about going 60mph down a half tube of ice sounds fun to me. Plus I like the winter. I can't relate at all to the summer olympics.

I hadn't been following too much of the olympics. And one day I go to nbcolympics.com and check the medal winners and see MILLER, BODE - Gold and I'm like WTF?

game 7 in the world series can be exciting. other than that, not so much.
for the most part, i find the major american sports (baseball, basketball, football) to be the equivalent of watching paint dry.

Of course you can do some of the stuff they do. I would assume 90% of the world or more can run. Any fool can lob a ball at a hole 20 feet in the air. Most children worldwide can ride a bike. Playing basketball.......sorry, I got a laugh out of that one. Not that I know you can't play basketball, just the idea of it amuses me. What I'm saying is, just because most of us can do those things, doesn;t make it more exciting. I would rather see people throw themselves down an icy poopshoot with reckless abandon than do something I can do in my driveway, albeit at about 1/10th the skill level.
Now for baseball, I'm right with you there.

i'm convinced baseball is only good if you're at the game drinking overpriced beer and not really paying attention to the game, but making fun of others.
