It's gotta end sometime. Forza 4 will be out late in 2011 or something. I'd be pissed if in the future I bought DLC for a game that would become obsolete in a couple of months.
And the new Silverstone circuit would be neat, but you wouldn't be able to use it except online, and most people wouldn't have it. I'd rather just see new car packs.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
I got the new one purely because it has the McLaren and the C63. I now have all the cars I could ever want, unless they end up doing the unlikely and including a Swift in a future pack.

oh yes. i think I was like 12 or 13 when that came out, and i remember learning it had a V12 and thinking, holy crap, that's a lot of pistons!
then again I also thought Monte Carlos and Thunderbirds were sports cars just because they raced in Nascar.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
NFS II had it, or was it III? The interior was gay blue, but it sounded nice, and the spoiler would pop up under braking, which I thought was novel....
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
it was nfs ii. i almost always picked the mclaren or F50 though

I liked la nina in nfs3. It sounded pretty weird, but I liked it.

yeah, like 2 Lincoln V8s with the ends lopped off and then welded together, and quad turbos too, like the EB110.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Oddly enough, a vinyl group I had on my storefront (the Edge shaving gel logo on the below car) was removed. I remember when I first uploaded it, there was a problem putting search tags on it (it said "gel" was a naughty word ) so I'm wondering what happened.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
The other day, the Mulsanne Straight was both my shining moment, and my Agony of Defeat moment in the span of a 80 seconds. Turns out you have to brake at that little kink if you going 200 MPH in a Civic del Sol.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
man, i've never had to brake for that kink in any game. and it looks like that del sol was wagging its tail the whole way into hunaudieres so that's probably why.

When you have 520 hp on a lightweight FWD car, it's hard to keep under control.
The spec for that race was any 2WD car built up from F class to A class with a max tire width of 225 mm. Handling mods were strongly discouraged for maximum mayhem, but I had to put on full race tires. I'd put in a supercharged S2000 motor, and it would just spin the tires on the straightaway until I put the tires on, even in 5th gear. It redlined at 10K, and just launched once it hit 7,500 RPM.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
that just makes more of an argument for RWD. I'd be rockin' that Miata, or perhaps a C10 GTR. but i suppose it's all in the challenge though.
what would have happened with a quick liftoff and an apex? about the same thing?

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Yeah, pretty much. I had the differential settings turned way down and it still torque-steered badly.
While the Miata was available, that would have been too easy. And there aren't many other good RWD choices in F-class. I'd tried a Toyota 2000GT, but I was getting better lap times with the del Sol.

I almost played this game this weekend since... well, probably a year ago? Buddy of mine was playing MW2 so I did that instead...

I completed the Fujimi Kaido F Class heats thing on the weekend, using the Alfa GTA. So much fun. Fujimi Kaido and Amalfi Coast are the two best courses in the game.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
I actually plugged this game in yesterday only to recall why I quit playing it to begin with. All the little nuances I had forgotten about resurfaced. I jumped in my RSXS for a little D series action... the little revving movie before every race (really? An RSXS has like 3 lb/ft tq and it's revving and shaking?), the hands never leave the steering wheel even when shifting, the fact the steering wheel covers up from 4k to 8k (aka the whole power-band) on the tach, etc.
I'm sure playing with some of you assholes online would make it more fun. Anyone here have GT5P? We can scrap in that...?

That is annoying. I don't see why that never got addressed, because I haven't talked to a single person that liked it.
Talon wrote:the hands never leave the steering wheel even when shifting
This was patched early on. Load it up when on Live and get the game updated for the animations.

This depends on the car, and some cars I believe had it fixed during one of the patches, but not all of them.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
theyre really holding out on us with this jalopnik pack. it's almost october and still no new news or concrete release dates that i've seen. im starting to wonder if it's ever coming at all.
plenty of games coming out soon to keep me busy though. dead rising 2, the new medal of honor game, fable 3, and that new need for speed hot pursuit game should be good fun hopefully.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Whoa, I didn't expect this, given that GT5 has all that Top Gear stuff in it...

Sucks that you basically have to buy Forza again to take advantage of those things.
And where the hell is my Omni GLHS?

the new one is an exact replica of Hot Pursuit 2...i was watching videos of it and some of the tracks are the exact same, the physics look exactly the same, but with new graphics..and thats not necessarily a bad thing because that game was pretty good.
for the record i thought Carbon was the best until Shift in the era of non NFS -- NFS games.
