it will definitely help, but it wont hold that much. for example i think each dlc pack for gta4 is about 1.5 gigs.

i have one of those but i lost the cd, works great. i guess it would work with the usb drives and not just the xbox memory cards. i used one of those to get 100 million credits in forza 2, then got banned from the storefront about a week later. i could mod to my heart's content though.

2 GB won't be too good at holding DLC packs or demos (might be able to hold one or two at a time, depending on the size of the file), but you could store several XBLA games and TV shows on it.
I have almost 9 fucking GB of music on my HDD.

i have mine connected to my pc, so i can play mp3s that i drop into my "my music" folder instead of having to devote xbox harddrive space to music.

Actually, I don't have nearly that much, I was misreading what the XBox was telling me.
I'd do that too, but my XBox and router are in different rooms, and a lot of times I don't feel like dragging the ethernet cable out if I'm playing offline.

is that like a perma-ban on your account, or just on the game file?
and so theoritically if you store the game data on your thumbdrive, and not on the machine itself, would they maybe not be able to tell if you've cheated or not, in reference to Honor's earlier idea?

I guess in Honor's case, they just banned him from the Storefront, where you can buy and sell paint jobs, graphics, tunes, etc. But I've also seen in some cases where they'll hand out a permaban from all of XBox Live to where you could only play offline.
And they keep track of everyone's transactions through the Storefront. If you did something illegal, it wouldn't matter if you saved it on a thumbdrive and took it out or not. They know what kind of exploits to look for.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
they know all, they see all. i am too paranoid to try anything now. i have a buddy who was trying to get me to join him and get our xboxes modded so we could play burned games from the harddrive. glad i didnt, he is now permanently banned from xbox live.

Give me the design for free and I'll use it. My C30 effort is simply a red car with giant Volvo logo on the bonnet

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Fucking Ladera, and that goofy ass grippy surface off track. Fun if you use it to corner faster than should be possible, horribly stupid (as above) if you are crossed up when you touch it.
And fuck, dude, I rolled a car the first time I played. Hit a curb wrong on Sunset with my 1st gen Miata. Lightweight + stiff suspension + speed = oopsie. Didn't save a pic, but I hit the wall with my roof and rolled back on my wheels and kept going.

gotta drive kosher if i ever get to play that. i'm so used to agressive racing that i'd probably total my cars out.

I've actually grown to like Ladera. It's that Iberian circuit that's adjacent to it that I can't fucking stand.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
did you guys ever notice that two different cars might have the same PI number but one car will be clearly superior in most if not all categories, based on the 1-10 numbers ranking top speed, cornering, etc.
it really makes no sense at all.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Yeah, the PI system is better than it's ever been, but it still has some flaws. Most notably that AWD conversions knock too much off the PI, allowing you to throw on a bit more engine or handling mods than you could on a similarly weighted RWD vehicle.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Not to mention wings. Although I kind of like discovering gems among the stock cars in each class. The Ferrari California, for example, punches above its division.
I have only made two ten second movies, but one is the C30 at a 45 degree angle to the road, leading the pack home at Ladera.
Jay, funny that you hate Ladera. I really like it because it manages to cram the corners, hills and straights of a proper track into such a short distance.

It's actually Iberian that I hate, but I think we're thinking of the same thing.
I think it's actually too busy. If there were a few more speedy sections and a few looser turns peppered in, it wouldn't be too bad. As it is, there's just tons of opposite-direction tight low speed turns that get tiring quickly. We ran a 20 lap race on one of the Iberian tracks, and everyone who was using a gamepad nearly needed their left hand amputated when it was over. I had an exciting race, but I accelerated the onset of arthritis by about 10 years during that race.
Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
Yeah, I meant Iberian - stuck on Ladera from the previous paragraph.
You're probably right about it over a long race. I'd rather do 5 laps of a bigger circuit than 10 or 20 at Iberian. But it's great for a quick blast and to test a car's dynamics.
It might have one very annoying feature depending on layout, which is shared with Catalunya School Circuit - a finish line too close to corner 1. It doesn't really matter in the game, because on the last lap you just floor it and let the pc controlled car end up in the gravel. But I find it hard to believe that the real circuits are the same - you'd end up with a lot of dead drivers.

Re: AF Forza 3 Racing League
I like Fujimi and Positano the most. Laguna had always been my favourite in previous games, so they've done a great job to knock that down the list.
It's great that they've broken Nurburgring into stages - I could never be bothered with the whole thing.

I think NFS Shift is the only game I've seen Spa and Willow Springs in, and I've become quite fond of those tracks.
I also like Seca, Road Atlanta, Silverstone, and Suzuka, too.
