I lowered my Legacy wagon today. WRX struts and Hotchkis springs. My, what a difference. I may post pics in the Mammogramy section.

Here's one.

There is nothing wrong with BFGoodrich. Out of all the top name brands, I trust them the most.

I used to run those on my Talon and my mom uses them on her Subaru. They're good tires for the money.

Ascona just likes to come into a thread and make any sort of negative comment possible.

I hate them. I had them on my Crown Vic, and while they are pretty good in the dry and have a high threshold for grip, they sucked everywhere else.

At least I got the stock 14"s lined up with winter tires for the snow, and some summer Kumhos planned for these wheels next spring.

i have bfgoodrich tyres. they were my winter tyres. they had less grip than my worn all seasons. the only time i was quite satisfied with their performance, was on a dry road, at around 20°C.
those shitheap tyres even got me a 100 euro fine for chirping.

they also got damaged too easily. had to replace 2 of them because of bulges in the sidewalls, driven no different from my regular tyres. which have had no damage.

just a quick addition to this post, my mum had bfgoodrich on her peugeot. that car was a hell to drive. then she put on michelins, and it was a hell of a better car.
so it's not just my judgement based on one set of tyres

*typing this post on his eeepc, wearing black socks, smoking marlboro menthol. the bathroom has been ccompletely redone, the statute was of a saint, not an angel, and it's not there anymore, and my white car went to a scrapyard because it cost over 50 bucks to fix it.

Speaking of new tires, I just bought 4 new Bridgestone Potenza G019's. I had the previous model (G009) on the car before I put these on and they were great.

G009's were known for cupping. Friend of mine has them on his 2.5RS and the noise is unbearable.
G019s are supposed to be MUCH better.
But I'm a big fan of Dunlop's Signature Sport. 60,000 mile warranty and excellent in the dry and snow. For the price it's nice.

Fortunately, I never noticed any noise problems with my G009s. There was a touch more road noise, as they were much grippier than the touring tires the car came with, but it was never unbearable.
