The new Honda Fit is a sweet car. Can't stand the Ford Flex though.

I don't like the Flex that much, I hate how they call it a Crossover, it's a fucking station wagon.
Crossovers are the new Station Wagon, they just sit a little higher and have AWD available.

haha yeah, I love how the marketing types are trying to spin cross-overs as something 'new and daring', ignoring completely the fact that "cross-overs" have been around for decades.
The worst part is that it kind of works too.

Re: Automobiles Mag's All Stars for 2009
I think the Flex was a very media-driven car. I kept reading about how there was all this buzz around it, and the automotive media was fawning over how cool it was, but I always thought it was quite lame, and I never heard or read of a member of the buying public ever saying OMG THAT FLEX IS FUCKING AWESOME BUILD IT BUILD IT BUILD IT!!!11!ONE1!! I think the auto media hyped Ford into build the thing without the public backing that hype up.
Re: Automobiles Mag's All Stars for 2009
You can tell it was hyped by the auto media, you don't see any on the road. I think since their introduction, I've seen two on the road.

i don't know much about the flex, but that is a pretty solid list. i'm surprised that a car rag could come up with something decent.
i'd dump the jag and the flex. there's better stuff out there.

And now Lincoln has that Flex-based MKT coming out, which looks like a manatee dropped onto a skateboard.

Well by that comment I figured you don't read Automobile, so you wouldn't know that it was their 2008 Car of the Year.

No I do not, I read autoblog and thats about it
We've been hearing about it since 2007 I think that counts
Re: Automobiles Mag's All Stars for 2009
it's funny. the only ones on that list that i'd really want would be the cheapest and the most expensive. the zr1 is nice, but i know i'd put in a tree leaving the dealer parking lot. the 911 is just blah. the rest are also blah...SBF wrote:Basically all cars that have been introduced in 2008 as 2009 Models. Re: Automobiles Mag's All Stars for 2009
New 3 Series is very nice with the big engines. I saw an XF yesterday and I only really like the Aston back. But even that has too much blank space below the high taillights.
If I had lots of money I'd definitely consider a 3 or C63. The ZR1 seems incredible, but a 7.0L is more enticing than a supercharged 6.2.
