If it seems like the US shifted to the Democrats in the last election, it's because it really, really, REALLY did.

First, take a look at the districts that shifted to the Republicans.

Political Trends in the US. 110

And now the districts that shifted to the Democrats.

Yeah. Homefield advantage, and, I agree, I think they were more familiar with the McCain of 2000, so their vote would be harder to change for Obama.

I think McCain, deep down was not a bad guy. I think he was warped and twisted by his handlers this campaign and lost a lot because of that.

It seems to me that all the muck that was raked during the election showed that deep down he is a bad guy (like that vacation story?), it's just easy to be magnanimous about him now that he's lost.

Like all the people who mourned how great Reagan was when he died. Fffffuck that dude.

It's just such a wasted opportunity. There's going to be no progress in Canada for the next 2 years, then there's going to be another fucking waste of an election (and several hundred million dollars) where we'll elect another minority government with our broken-ass political system. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Diversity naturally brings society to the centre, politically, socially, culturally and economically. It is a fact that one cannot fight if they wish to see their nation grow and progress in all ways important to all people. Extremism only exists in less diversified, less just and less educated societies. The USA is showing to not only itself but all the world what diversity brings and more often than not what it brings is better things and outlook on the nation and its people.

I don't know,McCain always did give me the impression of being a decent guy.

About Reagan,we KNEW he was mad,but he gave us a few good laughs.

We still use a few of his wise words in our house:

A tree's a tree. How many more do you need to look at?
I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.
I have left orders to be awakened at any time in case of national emergency, even if I'm in a cabinet meeting.
The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
