honor man wrote:something that kinda annoys me about fallout is the stupid pip boy light. its not very bright at all. this is a very dark game, and dark games need bright flashlights. i guess i could turn my tv brightness up, but i shouldnt have to.
I'd have figured that considering all the junk you find, that somewhere along the way you'd come across a flashlight.
Re: Fallout 3
its just an endless ocean of tin cans, empty nuka cola bottles and scrap metal. i was hoping for a more advanced model pip boy model but i dont see that happening

Re: Fallout 3
The Pitt looks good. Anchorage was kinda meh...most of it is played from within a simulator pod, and as a simulation, they changed a lot of basic mechanics, like magic health dispensers and ammo dispensers, and you couldn't lift guns off of dead bodies in the sim either.
You get a few cool bits of hardware when it's overwith though.

Re: Fallout 3
so they released the pitt today, and apparently its chock full of glitches and freezes.im glad i didnt get a chance to buy it before they pulled it off of xbl to fix it up. still, how could they put something liek that online? are they retarded or what? and when people tried to download it again, it wanted to charge them another 800 points instead of letting them do it for free like it's suppose to. wtf? people are livid over this all over the net.

Re: Fallout 3
A new Fallout game is coming. Fallout: New Vegas will team up Bethesda with Obsidian, who has a number of people on their payroll who used to be at Black Isle, the studio that developed the original Fallout games... http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=23276

I love that perk...
I don't know about Mothership Zeta being the best, but it does look interesting. I've gotten all of the DLCs so far, so I'll definitely get it.

Re: Fallout 3
Seriously though, the rare mention of aliens in the Fallout series has either been a non-sequitur gag with a cool bonus ray-gun, or led to the character finding out they were actually experiments on Earth-based creatures. To actually put aliens in as a serious part of the game kinda goes against the game's atmosphere.
Like with the above link, whipping out the OMG ALIENS card in something like this just seems cheap.
I'll still play the shit out of it though.

Re: Fallout 3
Do you ever actually get to own buildings and shit? When I want to store stuff I hide it in something out in the wasteland and put landmines around it. I haven't had a problem yet.

Re: Fallout 3
After completing "the power of the atom" you get to own one of two houses, based on whether you chose the good or evil option.

Re: Fallout 3
There are some places where you can store things and not have them disturbed. I've heard that you have to be careful as things can disappear after a while if it's not a locker that's in your "Power of the Atom" home, but I've also heard of people storing stuff all over the wasteland and not having problems. There was a locker in the Pitt's steel mill that I used, and a safe in the bank in Point Lookout.
So...
So...
Re: Fallout 3
The violence in this game still astounds me sometimes, haha. Tonight, I shot some guy in the head with the minigun and saw his skull and pieces of brain flying apart in slow motion. They still don't let you kill kids though.

If you don't tell Sheriff Simms that Burke wants to blow up the town does he still get killed?

If you get the PC version, you can find mods to get around that
