I liked Steve Harvey until I found out what a religious wackjob he is
My personal fave : "You can't tell me this spun out of a gastrous ball, and then all of a sudden we were evolved from monkeys, why we still got monkeys?"

So the more logical solution is a magic man in the sky built the whole thing in six days? And we're all the spawn of Adam and Eve? So every time we bang a chick it's really like a cousin 1,000 times removed.

Don't forget that God is loving and peaceful but we're supposed to stone homos to death and cut the heads off of disobedient teenagers or whatever.

Well did you know that the Earth is only 6000 years old?

I consider my dad to be one of the smartest, most logical people I've ever known, and yet he still doesn't believe in evolution and uses the above argument, despite all attempts I've made to explain that evolution doesn't say we all evolved from monkeys, but that we and monkeys may share a common ancestor.

People throw logic and common sense out the window when talking about religion. It's pretty amazing.

Yeah, the dinosaur bones, wooly mammoths, etc. that have all been carbon dated as being much older than that were planted there by Satan to trick us.

Religion is something people thousands of years ago used to justify things they could not otherwise explain/justify. Obviously they didn't have a spec of the resources we do now.
Now, science and biology is capable of explaining 99.999999999999999% of those thing. Religious people just refuse to accept it.
Science > Religion.

I could never get into that guy. My favorite is Louis CK. George Carlin has alot of good atheism/anti-religion stuff too.

Science > Religion.
I think most people buy into it because they're afraid of dying. The act of dying itself would be the worst part. Once you're dead, it'll be just like before you were born, which I had no complaints about. Or maybe there is something afterwards. Personally I doubt it though. The fact that there was nothing before (that we remember anyway) is the closest thing to a clue that we can get that there will be nothing after. Everyone should try not to worry about it and just enjoy the time we have.

Patton Oswalt and Louis CK are both brilliant, but they do have different styles. I like them both equally, but for different reasons.

It was always a joy when Louis CK's name popped up on the satellite radio channel during my trip.

Louis is definitely my favorite, Patton is up there though.

Part of what I like about Louie is that he really appreciates his fans. He makes new material for every show so anybody whose been to previous shows of his doesnt see the same shit twice.
