South Park: The Stick of Truth
Who here has or is getting this?
Looks like classic South Park, all the old characters and jokes are in it, and it's like playing out a really long South Park episode from what I've seen. The visuals are spot on, too.

I'm a South Park fan so I'll be getting it.

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I bought it Tuesday but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Plan to rectify that in an hour or so...
Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
Played a few hours of the game and it's neat so far. Early going has a lot of fetch quests and ransacking people's stuff for items, but it's not so bad once you unlock the fast travel points. Lots of stuff to see and do and it all feels like you're watching an episode of the show. The story's been pretty good and there's tons of funny stuff throughout the game. The combat system takes some getting used to, mainly because blocking is really important and timing the blocks can be tough to grasp. I forgot about the smash button so I've missed a few items that I didn't know how to get to, so I need to back track a bit, but not too bad. I had to force myself to shut the game off for the night.

let me know if its worth buying or just a rental

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
If you have something lie GameFly I'd rent it, play it till the end. Me, I'm poor, so I'll wait for it to hit the bargain bins and pick it up for cheap.
Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I'm still on the fence about making a recommendation on buying vs. rental. On the one hand it's got a good story and it's really funny, and the combat system is pretty good once you get used to the timing, though I've yet to get into a fight that was really challenging. On the other hand, moving through the game world can be a bit boring. Basically, go someplace, grab everything that isn't nailed down, then move on to the next place, repeat. Maybe pick up an easy sidequest. I'm still in the early game so maybe it'll pick up, but the actual gameplay seems a bit too straightforward.

So I just looked into this "Titanlfall" everyone's been talking about. Just another (online multiplayer ONLY) FPS. Fucking yawn. Don't people ever get sick of the same old shit year after year? OMG but this has robotz!!!

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
Is that really all it is? I hadn't been following it, but I knew it was being heralded as the greatest game on any next gen console with its throne unlikely to be seized anytime soon. I assumed it had a great story or some groundbreaking gameplay mechanics or something, because in the commercials, it looks like Brown: The Game.
Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
So I finally got around to finishing the game. Took about 18 hours with all the sidequests, so I feel I got my money's worth out of it, but that also involved some backtracking and scrounging around to find hidden areas I couldn't get to without certain abilities, so you may not get as much time out of it as I did. Definitely play this one if you can, but if you're looking to buy, I'd wait for a price drop. The endgame went totally off the rails in true South Park fashion and I had a great time with it. I'd love to see them do another one.

Did you guys see they're making a Mad Max game?

Oh crap, I forgot about that. TO THE YOUTUBES
Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I'll be crushed if it sucks. It'd better have the interceptor in it too.

Mad Max will feature crafting system which can be used to craft new weapons and tools. Max's garage can also be used to change and modify the car's engines, chassis, wheels, body works including paint treatment and the “shell” of the auto-mobile and the car’s weight and attributes update accordingly. wrote:

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I haven't seen much of it yet, and gameplay video is scarce right now.
It's going to have to be better than Outlander on the Sega Genesis, which was a hella fun Mad Max ripoff.

Re: South Park: The Stick of Truth
I did. It was okay but driving around was such a chore. Occasionally you could get into chases, but most of the time it was just driving from one part of town to the other side of town to advance the story, and the questioning part of the game had moments here and there that didn't make much sense. The graphics were great though, as well as the voice acting, and some of the cases were neat.
If it's cheap, it might be worth picking up.
