rest of the story here...If you squealed with delight when Porsche revealed its 918 Spyder, get ready to squeal some more - it's going into production.
Porsche CEO Michael Macht was yesterday ‘given the mission' to produce a limited production run of the 918 concept which shocked audiences at Geneva; a mission we have classified as being ‘ruddy impossible'...

I hope it changes as little as possible from concept to production-spec, like the CGT.

Production versions are said to have a layout of front-wheel drive, 2+2 with a supercharged 1.4 Golf engine transmitted through a 4-speed auto.

Back when I thought I was going to be a financial success (undergrad / law school) I'd get excited about cars like this - now that a lifetime of fiscal mediocrity is staring me in the face I find myself caring less and less about these super cars.

you still make enough to buy a boxster or possibly a 911 though.

Yeah, but it'd have to be used - and it'd be my only car.

Don't play that angle Wally. You will easily be able to afford a new boxster, or cockster in the not too distant future if you really wanted one, along with a cheapy daily driver to transport the brood around in. Of course you were originally talking about real supercars, and that is understandable.
That said, what is the CA$ price for a base Boxster. I know 5-10 years ago they were like $50K in the US which is just stupid compared to the prices here.
