They basically paid a ransom. Obvioulsy the ones who they paid the money to stole the dog. Theyre rewarding people for stealing their dog.

It's one thing if they had a bunch of money to blow...regardless of how stupid it is, it's their situation and if that's how they want to handle it, fine. But the article says they cobbled together donations from friends. If I'd chipped in 50 bucks for a reward for a friend's dog and found out that they just used it to pay a no-questions-asked ransom, I'd be pissed.

Yeah, I just cant see how you wouldn't want the people who not only stole your dog but vandalized your car to be arrested. It's fucking insane. I'd want their heads on a pike in my front yard.

Those people are beyond stupid. All they had to do was have the cops waiting at the petco or like you guys already said, trace the cell phone. Also, if they had to scrounge up the money what are they doing rolling in an escalade?
