The government might as well just write the check out to the UAW Union. Why even bother with the middle man?

The government needs to really focus on fixing our absolutely broken healthcare system and the ridiculous waste, high prices, and bureaucracy. And while they're at it, do something about the trade imbalances and agreements that allow so many of our jobs to be cheaper to do in other countries. That will go a long way toward fixing Detroit's ills, as well as the rest of our shitty manufacturing sector.

The UAW isn't the biggest problem now, but yeah they need to change (mainly GM and Chrysler) or else this bailout won't work

there was a trade. if you bought GM at 10:20ish and sold at 12:45, you'd have doubled your money.

it's just spastic trading. people are just swinging at GM and F like lottery tickets. there's no investment thesis there, however. they're going to have to file for bankruptcy. there's no way around it. horribly managed companies that have been hemorrhaging cash for decades.

it's time to shoot the rabid dog.
