Al Qaeda supports McCain

What of this? I know that in 2004 Bin Laden released a similar message in support of Kerry. Will this hurt McCain, help McCain, no effect?

On the one hand they've basically come out and said that a McCain presidency is in their best interests - I could have told you that. How will popular opinion respond? Will the resurfacing of Al Qaeda lead to increased 'fears of terrorism', etc etc leading to an upswing in the polls for McCain?

that's fantastic. although, it does smell of a simpleton application of the reverse-psychology technique. they probably want obama, because they'll expect to take iraq as their own country.

Wonder how all the people at my mother's church who are brainwashing her into voting McCain will take that? They've convinced Mom that Obama is a Muslim and therefore unfit to be President, so how will a Muslim extremist group's endorsement of McCain go down?

That, but I think a perceived continuation of Bush's foreign policy would be better for their recruitment.

It could be a ploy to get obama elected but Al Qaeda typically likes hawks since they probably increase recruitment by a fucking ton.
