You can't compare the death penalty to abortion anyway considering that a fetus/baby hasn't done shit yet and someone who is up for the death penalty probably did something horrible. I'm pro-abortion because I'm a realist and realize what people would do if it were illegal. It isn't practical for it to be illegal but personally I have ethical issues with the idea. I'm not sure I'd want a girl I got pregnant to have one because I have no idea when I'd consider something to actually be human. I'm not trying to start a debate or anything here; I'm simply saying I'm not sure.

Of course you can compare the two. The whole premise of the pro-life party is just that, pro life. That we, as people, shouldn't have the ability to choose who lives and who dies. That's god's role, or nature's, or whatever. Innocence and guilt notwithstanding.

If they truly believed that, then they wouldn't be making exceptions in situations where there are alternatives, like permanently incarcerating a violent criminal instead of killing him/her.
