The one thing I remembered but forgot to tell you was your earlier plan of racking up fines but never coming back wouldn't work with a rental. I rented a BMW in Tassie a few years ago and the rental company processed the fine and charged me a $50 admin fee on top...

Just to be safe, when you've given back the car and squared the account, you should probably call your blank and block any further charges...

i'm back home singe tuesday :)
got 1 fine, so far, probably tens others still on the way (most from toll roads, though)
ended up only having to pay for accomodation twice :)
OZ rocks, kinda... didn't really wanted to go back home and next time i'll be in OZ will be roughly May 2012... which is a hella long time to go...

no, i went back to melb the day after summernats, and only cause my flight left there in the evening
