A VolksWagen............Pickup?

Well here it is, an actual VW truck. The Amarok.
Body on Frame construction. 2.0L Turbo Diesel. 5600 lb towing capacity. Not bad. But also too bad it won't be sold in North America.

i dont think many people in the us would buy one anyway, but who knows.

There were Pickup variants of Type 2 Buses, Squarebacks, and Golfs...

Yes there was, but none of them were body on frame. This would technically be a real truck.
But my question is, what is it really? It looks like something else and I don't feel like VW would have put their engineering department on building a BOF pickup.
