It's not terrible. But it's not a stunner either. Kind of looks like a longer version of the new Impreza.

Also, Porsche should stick to sports cars.

That thing is horrid. I also agree that they need to stick to sports cars. It isn't like they weren't making money that way.

Also, the cheapest is $127,000? Why the fuck wouldn't you just buy one of their sports cars if you're already spending that kind of money?

You could buy a BMW wagon and a 911 for the price I think. Insane. They actually think this will sell? Looking like that?

I agree, when a company starts to change its market definition in Porsche's case sports coupes and convertibles to include other products that have not been traditionally a part of, it in trying to increase market share may actually in the long run lose because it loses its core identity and the flavour that brought many enthusiasts to it. It started with their ugly SUV and now this car in the photo here. The car in the photo here looks alright better than the SUV and is probably a pretty good car but it is not what Porsche is to be about.

Re: Porsche sucks at rooflines
The only bit of Porsche styling I've been impressed with at all in the last 15 years was the Carrera GT. It's like, hey Porsche...it's okay to have a couple of models that don't look like 911 knock-offs. You've had models before that didn't look like a 911 at all and did just fine.

maybe the illusion of no camo is the best camo . . .
and i am a fan of sporty 4door sports cars. one of my favourite cars still is the early 90s maserati quattroporte. srsly. and my other sporty car that isn't a real race thing, is an m5.

No. Roofline, yes. Everything else, no.
dude, man, the only thing that could be improved would be the wheels. apart from them, that car is perfect.
Re: Porsche sucks at rooflines
at least the quattroporte shows some dignity and class, rather than to be the "OMG sportscar with two doors flapped on, but we still need to make it look sporty or noone would buy it cause we're aston and porsche"
it's got class.

Re: Porsche sucks at rooflines
The current Quattroporte is fairly meh.
If the next Quattroporte has looks derived from the new Gran Turismo, then yes.

Re: Porsche sucks at rooflines
Aston Martin is the perfect example of a car company with distinct models that don't look distinct at all. The Rapide is hot, although I would have to have a lot of kids to even think about buying it over a coupe. And there's no point buying two Astons since they all look the same.
Porsche is the perfect example of trying to give every model 911 queues, not realising that they only just work on the rear-engined original. The Panamera is the worst looking car ever with the worst name ever.

The Cayman is a great looking car, but the roofline is definitely going for the baby sports car look, rather than truly exotic.

Which I don't think is a bad thing, since that's what it is.Swerve wrote:The Cayman is a great looking car, but the roofline is definitely going for the baby sports car look, rather than truly exotic.
I saw an Austin-Healey 3000 the other day. I really like those cars.

Re: Porsche sucks at rooflines
Porsche could have made it look like anything but they held back. It's cool but in some ways a wasted opportunity.
Not that everyone should be as adventurous as BMW when they put a roof on their convertible model.
