What the bloody hell?
So as I looked at the front page of the board, I saw how every category had at most 4 topics, and the Pointless Drivel forum had like 70. I wanted to break things up a bit.
So I moved all the stuff that basically starts out with a "Hey look at this thing I found and let us discuss upon it now," in the first post here. Topics where the first post is just a news article or a Youtube vid and external stuff to discuss and things like that. And the Pointless Drivel section can be more about stuff going on with us.
There is little that's more woeful than anal retentiveness.

Re: What the bloody hell?
oh now we have ads? this is unacceptable, just a disgrace to the seriousness AF strives for.
Re: What the bloody hell?

Re: What the bloody hell?
I didn't see it because I have AdBlock Plus in my Firefox, but now that you mention it, I do see more white space up at the top where an ad would be.
Fucking lame.
Fucking lame.
Re: What the bloody hell?
It would seem that Forumotion is "testing" something with the ads. I've got conflicting information, but the best I can make out of it is the ads should be going away pretty soon (they've disappeared for most non-American admins), but it's possible they may come back permanently. If so, I think I'll have to pay $15 a year to keep them off. If that happens, I can swing that if need be.
Re: What the bloody hell?
I've noticed them for a while...
..and "Ciara" is pretty, but she don't want none of this.

Hmmm...I know that if you're not logged in you'll see them, but it sounded like it's only been recently that logged-in members have been seeing ads. How long have you been seeing them while logged in?
Re: What the bloody hell?
I can't really remember. I'm on a public computer most of the time, so I have to log in and out, so maybe I'm confusing the times I'd seen them before i logged in, but I remember seeing them when logged in at least a week ago because there was some stupid "shoot the burglar" flash "game" on it that i dicked around with before it led me to some site with a million popups at once that completely froze the computer I was on.JaysonAych wrote:Turbojett wrote:I've noticed them for a while...

Re: What the bloody hell?
I think Forumotion's got the ads back to a "guests only" thing after the near revolt. Who knew people would be pissed off to see a bunch of stupid flashing ads????
Are they gone when logged in now?
