The drivetrain alone is maybe worth 4k.... the donor car, running with original parts MAYBE a grand.... labor to do it, plus exclusivity..... Fuck it, I'd talk him down to 5 if the body is rust free.

As I stated above... maybe. Unless you already HAVE a SRT-4 or a K-wagon. In the instance of my Legacy, I could find a WRX engine/trans/suspension for around $5k, swap it for free (my own time and tools), but would I try and sell it for $5500 (total cost of donor parts plus original car? No way. $7k o.b.o.
