Your thoughts on an Chevy LT1 for a project car.
Its out of a '94-'95 Buick Roadmaster with 120,000miles. The cars frame is junk and I'm hoping to get it for $500-600. The only hard part will be having to figure out how I'm going to swap over the electronics. Has anyone here done a carb to fuel injection swap and what were the key things you had to do? My project has stalled the last 4 years or so and I'm sick of waiting to get the parts together that I want for my engine. So instead I'll be swapping this motor (hopefully) into the RX-7. This way I can put the money into the suspension and the rest of the car sooner then planned. Thanks for the input and I expect the usual "Shenanigans".

Doesn't painless wiring make a harness to put a LT1 in ANYTHING?

I meant to check them but got distracted. That was the plan my dad and I discussed earlier today, was to check for a painless wiring harness for an LT1. lol.

I had one but some how (cough SBF) the ole 12a ingested coke and some other kind of milky residue before it met its untimely death.
I bought the car for $400 and after I junk my truck and the car I think I'll make $50 bucks out of the deal.

Hey that thing was locked up before I got it. It was DOA. I used some old timer rotary tricks to free it up. That white milky residue was most likely from the coolant that leaked into the rotor chambers.

Haha, yeah imagine that little rx7 with an LT1. That would rule.

The painless kit is about $800-900 so I'm going to sell my forged 383 stroker kit for fundage towards that and some headers. The kit was for the early 2 piece blocks and hopefully I can sell it soon

LT1, i wouldn't waste my time.
I'd go a for a much newer LS series engine. You'll really enjoy the weight savings and more power.
Screw Painless, just make your own wiring harness it's not too hard to start with a factory harness and get it to work.
