Abu Dhabi
It's all setup for an amazing finale.
And what a performance by Hulkenburg to take pole, considering his teammate's home GP grid position. A career saving performance.

Re: Abu Dhabi
Hopefully Webber can get pole and win it on his own merit rather than having Vettel let him by, if he is to win the WDC that is.

Re: Abu Dhabi
with less pressure than the other two i expect vettel to be surpreme. i see one of two situations:
1. alonso splits the red bulls and comes second. webber has a very high chance of bottling it as he knows this is his only shot.
2. vettel lets webber through to win VERY late in the race. webber wins the WDC and cue the biggest backlash against F1 in history

Re: Abu Dhabi
Well since my man Hamilton has only a slim chance to win the WDC. I 'm hoping Webber can now win it. From all I'm hearing and reading most in F1 paddock really like Webber as a man and would be happy if he were to win the WDC.
I don't care much for Alonso or Ferrari F1 and I don't think Red Bull has been so fair on Webber. Vettel does not do it for me. I think he is more overrated and truly lacks the mind to be a real champion but he sure gets coddled along by the team where Webber is often seemingly left hanging by them. I hope Webber wins it to spoil it for Vettel for who in time will be shown as a driver again who is overrated and lacks the mind of true champion.
Sorry to any of you Vettel fans but that's how I see it.

Re: Abu Dhabi
I don't think there would be much backlash actually. Even most of the generally insane people at the autosport forums seem to be ok with Vettel letting Webber through. After what Ferrari did earlier in the year it would be just as bad, if not worse, if Alonso was to win by 7 points or less.Pennzoil GT-R wrote:with less pressure than the other two i expect vettel to be surpreme. i see one of two situations:

Re: Abu Dhabi
I would be very, very surprised if Vettel pulls over for Webber. I know he says he will do everything to ensure Red Bull wins the Driver's Championship as well, but I think that, in reality, means that he won't stop trying to win it for himself until he is mathematically eliminated. I can't see a scenario where he would potentially let Webber past him unless it was the last lap and the order was 1. Vettel 2. Webber 3. Alonso. And even then, given the risk of the motor in Alonso's car failing, I don't see Vettel wanting to take the chance of not winning the title himself.
So, I think Alonso will likely win the title, as I don't think Red Bull will adequately support Vettel, and I could easily see the two drivers even taking each other out. Especially if Alonso were suffering some sort of trouble, I could see an incident between the two Red Bull drivers as they each tried to secure the title for themselves (and then ironically handing the title back to Alonso).

Re: Abu Dhabi
Sure it will probably be the last lap, even the last corner, and he won't be particularly happy about it, but Vettel will let him past if Alonso is 3rd or 4th at that time.

Re: Abu Dhabi
As much as I dislike Vettel, if he was to win the title it would definitely been deserving. His cars have disintegrated around him race after race. Hungary was bizarre but for the most part he has been robbed of the points.
Alonso is the smartest driver out there by far. He was happy to accumulate points when it looked like Ferrari had no chance. Those points are paying off now and if he can take the championship in the year's third best team (possibly fourth - it's hard to tell how good Renault really are with only one decent driver) then all three of his titles will be pretty special.
Webber's 2010 has been similar to Alonso's 2007. Great driving, a team that clearly favours the teammate and his attitude wanting to exaggerate that favouritism. I hope he wins, but that he retires afterwards. Another season of this would be too much.

There might be more chance of Vettel letting Alonso through for second than letter Webber through for the win.

Re: Abu Dhabi
Fucking hell Alonso. Hard to argue that this year's best driver didn't win, but he was irritating enough without a WC.

Boring race on a dull track made exciting by the stakes. It's a shame Bernie lets money dictate the final race location as Brazil produces much better racing.
Webber should be kicking himself for bottling it
Much as i love Ferrari i dislike Alonso and his little outburst at Petrov on the in lap reminded everyone why hes not such a great guy.
Vettel was the fastest all year and a worthy champion. My favourite driver won....just a shame he wasnt in a red car.
