worked on a car
so yeah, i had some time to spare today and decided it'd be nice to clean out my throttle body, and perform the throttle body coolant bypass, for extra free power...
and while i was at it, i decided it'd be swell to clean some other parts too...
and then i got error messages "service idle control"
grrrrr
but it does do better skids than before, though.. had a proper single pegger

Or since no one in America is using their right hand for anything since nearly every car has an auto-trans now, they figure we can get the wipers ourselves.
Re: worked on a car
yeah but then that means we'd have to, like, move and shit..

bah. shit day, frustrations, get in the car at the work carpark, slight slope, ding fuel low level, i put it in d an nothing happens, it ran out in those two seconds. rolled it to the level part of the lot (only a car length, so n and foot off the brake, and all was well..) started it again, and actuaslly had sufficient amount of fuel left.but got some gas anyway, filled 'r'up, fucking cunt shit drivers and people everywhere and irritations and frustrations an plain tired, get home, blew through an 8th of the tank. in 25km.

no they're not. high end cars have them. some cheap cars have them as a selling point, but they're more of you have to be underwater for them to actually start wiping, and then venture to the sahara to get them to stop again.

honestly? the one in the daihatsu was awesome! sure, the previous astra one sucked, and one was better off with a manual wipe, but the daihatsu one was perfect.

CTSs have Fuel pump issues, you might want to consider keeping that bitch above 1/4 of a tank all the time.

Re: worked on a car
Mine is dodgy as hell, although the fact that there is a crack in the windscreen running right through the sensor probably doesn't help much.ascona wrote:Pennzoil GT-R wrote:SBF wrote:Maybe in Europe.

Re: worked on a car
I was impressed by a girl at work's Citroen C2 about 5 years ago having rain and light sensors. Rain sensors are a good idea, since it makes sense to let the car regulate the frequency of wipe. But light sensors are a bit unnecessary - you turn the lights on when you notice it's getting dark and leave them on until you've finished driving.
Swerve- My hope has been emancipated, and I'm reconstructing my anguish.

i checked it, thought it was kinda low, and left for home :)
tomorrow the belt, and maybe a coolant flush

Re: worked on a car
today, for no real reason, i replaced the serpentine belt and the tensioner today, but i can't say if the tensioner is tightened correctly. i didn't want to put too much power on it, as i was afraid i'd break the bolts, as i needed to put a big extension on the handle of the ratchet, just to be able to turn it... i hope all will be ok, as i'm going for quite a long drive tomorrow....
but the one that came off did go quite roughly, and made some noise when i turned it by hand... so good thing i changed it.
and i refilled the coolant reservoir, but i should flush the system. as it's got quite some rust or something.
and i didn't find any leaks in the system, nor did the oil look mayonaisey...

Re: worked on a car
GM Dex-cool sucks, it needs to be changed more often than they say or else it builds up.
