AF I need ideas
A friend of mine wants to buy a SPORTS car.
Now, he's not much of a car guy. By sports he doesn't mean performance, he means more like "an uncommon shape". A corvette, a porsche, a jag XK would fit the bill. It's not about the number of doors, it's more about looking sporty.
I kind of get his point. He feels the 300zx on its time was sportier than the new Z, even though the new Z is a 2 seater and the 300zx was 2 + 2 and had a 222 hp engine.
Now that we cleared what he means by sporty, here's what he's looking for:
VERY sporty (his definition)
2 + 2 (this one is a must)
must be current generation (he told me this AFTER I suggested the acura NSX, 300zx and rx-7 )
Any ideas? so far only the Jaguar XK comes to mind. Oh and the porsche 911.

Nissan Maxima?
I mean after all, it's the 4-door sports car.

But in all honesty, why not something like a BMW 335i Coupe?
Or a 650i Coupe?
CL550 Coupe?
Or a 650i Coupe?
CL550 Coupe?

2+2
and I disagree with his point, the G35 is just as sporty as the 2+2 300zx (which only came in NA) and I think just as stylish.
The only downside to the new generation is there's no supercar cousin of the chassis, like the old 300zx twin turbo coupes (they were all 2 seaters)

Wait, which 300zx are you talking about Z31 or Z32? Because the Z32 300zx came in both 2 seater and 2+2

How about a GT-R? Not sure if that would be out of his price range but those have backseats dont they?

I definitely think what your friend is looking for is a coupe of some sort. 2+2 sports cars are virtually obsolete.

both gens came as 2+2 or coupe, but only coupes were turbo's.

Forte Koup
on a more serious note.
Volvo C30 or C70
BMW, 1-series, 3 series, 6 series, Z4
Mazda RX-8 before they are discontinued
Whenever the Lotus Evora shows up, it would be cool.
Does this dude have a price range or hate certain things.

the RX8 is slow..not slow, but not as fast as its competitors.

Great handling though, considering magazines and Top Gear always achieve lap times compared with more powerful competitors.
I wouldn't choose one over an XK or a DB9 or 612 for several times the price. Especially a DB9.

Re: AF I need ideas
Well once you pay for all the oil you need to add, and the many trips to the dealer, the RX-8 is right up there in price.

Plus, they seem to me more mod-friendly than their contemporaries, maybe even the old FD's.Swerve wrote:Honor wrote:the RX8 is slow..not slow, but not as fast as its competitors.

Dude has a price range. I don't exactly know his price range, but I know the evora and 6 series are out of his range. The E coupe is barely in his range.
I suggested all of your suggestions dudes... he likes the E coupe, XK and M3 Coupe. If he chooses something I'll let you know
BTW he actually considers the mustang too... even though it'd "not sporty enough"
