Re: Your 80s Ultimate Car list.
944's run relatively cheap now i think.
Let's see, aside form pretty much everything on SBF's list:
'89 Corvette ZR-1
'84 Corvette (Just because I like the original rears on those things)
'81 Corvette (my birth year)
Chevy Malibu
R31 GTSR
Z31 300ZX
T-Bird Turbo Coupe
Ferrari Testarossa
Ferrari 348tb
Ferrai 308 GTS (Cue Magnum PI theme)
Lotus Esprit
Foxbody Mustang SVO (was that 80's? or Early 90's?)
Buick Grand National/GNX
Monte Carlo SS Aero
Pontiac GP GT Aerocoupe (that's the trifecta!)
Later-era DeTomaso Pantera
Porsche 928
Volkswagen Corrado/Scirocco
Original MR2 (Turbo)
BMW M1/M3/M5/M6
Mk3 Supra
Celica GT-S

If you're talking about the original original MR2, the AW11 was supercharged. The SW20 was released in 89 so still counts though. Along with:
NA MX5
Z32 300ZX
R32 Skyline
However, I'm not sure if iconic 90s cars are in the spirit of an 80s car list. They're not cheesy enough. Which is why my list would be:
84 Celica Supra
84 Iroc Camaro
85 323i
Ferrari 328
Porsche 944
Jeep Cherokee
Audi Quattro
FC Mazda RX7 Turbo

Re: Your 80s Ultimate Car list.
eh. I'd stop a little ways short of calling them muscle cars.
But Europeans love their big old fullsize American sedans. probably just because they're so different then what they normally have accessible to them.
but I totally forgot about the BMW 8-series! they did come out in '89. I guess i just more considered then 90's cars.

Re: Your 80s Ultimate Car list.
And I forgot about the car I always intended to own - E34 BMW 535i.
Since I don't actually find 80s cars desirable anymore, I'm revising my cars to a flashback of my first car shortlist:
BMW 323i manual
BMW 535i manual
Honda CRX
Honda Integra
Ford Laser 4WD Turbo
Nissan R31 Skyline
Toyota AW11 MR2
Toyota Celica
Of course, I ended up with a Civic. But that was a good 80s car too.
