2008 Motortrend Review of Falcon Turbos
Someone at work today forwarded me this link for no apparent reason. A pretty positive review with a mildly disturbing final paragraph.

+1.
toyota sucks... i can only go up to dot3 fluid, so i replaced the pads with high performance high temp ones, and i overheated them. at the moment i'm working on cooling the brakes with ducts...
don't get me wrong, stock brakes are about the best in their class for, on all accounts except endurance. they're too tiny..

Whenever I get a project car, brakes will probably be one of the first mods. Such an underrated component these days.

Somehow VS's profile has been taken over. Delete this now.
No, this is not a random message. I licked out a hooker. VS's profile is really fucked. If any of you USS guys knows his phone number call him now and well him what's going on.

brakes and tyers are the only parts of my car that's gotten attention, performance wise. yet. i'm not going on to other shit before the brakes can cope with the current workload.
and yeah, i actually, tyres are part of the brake system..
Re: 2008 Motortrend Review of Falcon Turbos
I need to swap the 2.5GT/Impreza 2.5RS brakes that I have onto my wagon. Yes I can run 14"s for my snow tires, but the stock brakes SUCK on this wagon.
Re: 2008 Motortrend Review of Falcon Turbos
Unless you're tracking your car you don't really need bigger brakes or high performance pads. But if you are then you really need them - my brakes needed a cool down lap every second time around Sandown. Higher performance pads on a solely street car are not necessarily a good idea because stopping can be a lottery when cold.

you should look into qfm a1rm pads. rather cheap, high temp resistance, and a huge friction coefficient. only pads i found that were higher were project mu, but they cost over twice as much, and have a lower cold fricyion coefficient...
Re: 2008 Motortrend Review of Falcon Turbos
Because there's no weight over the front tyres and my car doesn't have ABS, brake feel is the most important thing for my car's use at my ability level.
