Heating Oil Price Rises In Maine
"AUGUSTA, Maine -- Maine energy officials say heating oil prices have continued to go up for a fourth week in a row.
The Governor's Office of Energy Independence and Security said Tuesday that the average price for No. 2 heating oil jumped to $2.77 per gallon, up 10 cents from last week.
Energy Director John Kerry says strong economic growth in Asia is contributing to the price change.
The lowest heating oil price of $2.57 per gallon was found in southwestern Maine while the highest price of $3.05 per gallon was found in the eastern part of the state."

Re: Heating Oil Price Rises In Maine
Bought a $2,000 oil furnace/boiler, an update from the one that was installed in the early 70's. We run it with the wood boiler we bought the year before so when the stove dies down either when we goto bed or are at work the pipes won't freeze/ keeps the house warm. We still need to buy a mixing valve so we can use the oil or wood boilers to heat our water and cut down on the electric bill during the winter. Our goal this summer is to replace 12 windows, 2 doors, and gut the upstairs. Rip out all the plaster and chicken wire. Blow in insulation for the downstairs walls(no fire stops back in the 1800's lol), throw up some rolled insulation upstairs and sheetrock too. It's a long process but i'll get atleast the $1500 rebate this year for the boiler.

Good god. It's time to leave the 1920's. Does anyone use natural gas or LP in Maine? Or New England for that matter?
On another note, Stephen King's new book is based in Maine. It's pretty good so far.

More or less New England. Christine, which is my favorite book, and From a Buick Eight is based in Pennsylvania. Duma Key is an oddball based in Florida.
